Remember that Xbox 360 Laptop mod that the talented Ben Heckendorn created a few weeks ago? Well, Heckendorn has finally got around to filming a short clip of the mod in action. Contrary to what a few people thought, the 360 works a treat. The video shows the 360 being booted up to the dashboard, and then launching Rare’s Perfect Dark.
Was disappointing not to see the keyboard in use, or any hint that it does actually work. Only adds to the speculation it’s there only for show. Heckendorn should start taking orders, i’m sure there are many 360 fans out there in desperate need to play them on toilet!

I belive the fact that it’s not even there is a pretty good indication that it does nothing. still a very cool mod. he should just scrap the cosmetic BS of the keyboard and find another use for it. dunno… perhaps do like the tablet PCs and have the LCD screen turn and fold over so that is just looks/functions like a latscreen monitor or something.

You do realise that you can use a (usb) keyboard on the 360 for typing (writing messgaes, filling in forms etc), right?
Ok, so you’re not going to use it that often, but it’s more than ‘cosmetic BS’.
Right, it wouldn’t seem that hard to turn that laptop into a USB keyboard. Hell, if that isn’t possible, simply mounting a usb keyboard to that thing, then attaching the USB plug to the back (hidden like, you see), voila, operational keyboard.
