Dean Cain GamerCard

With Microsoft making it mandatory for developers to place a maximum of 1000 achievements points into all Xbox 360 games, it’s inevitable that developers will begin to get sloppy about how to implement the points. GamersReports give a run down of what they believe are the Top 10 Worst Xbox 360 Acheivements. You know developers are being lazy when they reward you with points for the simple task of switching your console on. The finger’s pointed at you, EA.

On a side note, what is everyones take an achievement points? You think it’s a step forward in the development of games? Or two steps back?

I think it’s an added bonus for those that like to track that kind of thing. It can also add re-playability of sorts to games that would otherwise have little or none. So, I think they are a good thing, but I also think it’s silly to put too much emphasis on them.

I wish they could be translated to MS points to buy stuff. Otherwise, what’s the point?

What the crap…be the top person on the internet play rankings? Thats stupid… and 99 levels of crappy bomberman? Good bomberman MAY be playable, but bad bomberman, and you will be screaming in 5 minutes.

I looked up my brother’s name in Google one day and found out that he is a Pro American footbal player.

i think its a bad devlopment in videogames, if video games require to do difficult feats(by anyone’s standards) it quits being a game and starts being a tool for social standing, those who like the game but arn’t realy good at it will be precieved as noobs, those who are the top achievers will be the most elitest of them all, and so on, its a class system where one realy shouldnt be

Any achievement requireing you to get to the top of a leaderboard is really dumb. First off people know ways of boasting there rank so its quite pointless to go for it unless you have the time to create another account and play countless games VS your own account to better your rank.

    Stupid.

your right george, they might as well give you 500 points for every amount of achievement points you earn in a game. what i mean is being at the top is an achievement in and among itself, to classify it as such twice is like giving you points for earning points

I like the achievements, for myself. Just for a, “Yeah, I beat that.” I have a friend list length of one. The gamertag I made for my friend that comes over to play Xbox. I often don’t finish games either. Half-way through a game I’ll get a new one, put the old game back on the shelf and not pick it up again. With the achievements it’s just a little extra push for me to actually finish my games.

I like the Achievements. It’s fun at times to just open up your profile and see all you have accomplished.

10 steps forward: I would never have finished Oblivion, and never had cared about how high my score got in GeoWars.

  12. Len

    You finished Oblivion?!
