Not that I encourage eating some of the monstrosities these companies produce on a daily basis, but if you had to choose one, which do you choose?

5 guys all the way!!!!
I’m surprised nobody has mentioned Checkers / Rally’s (its the same chain, just has a different name) those burgers are awesome!
backyard burger ftw!
Where is the “Big Kahuna”?
One Word: BACONATOR
It’s been so long since i had In and Out that I can’t say i remember. But looking at the list I see it as kind of west coast localized (our Carl’s Jr. is Hardeez). That said I have to go with Burger King. I loves me some double stacker.
burger king, well its actually called hungry jacks in australia. But same thing I believe.
Rally’s….bar none
Had to pick other on this one, up here there is a place called dixie grill and it is probably the best burger i have ever tasted.
Well, can’t vote in this one as I can’t stand any of the burgers from franchises. I really love the local mom & pop burger joint we have here.
C’mon, Scott! I can’t believe you forgot White Castle – it has a frickin’ movie made about it, and there’s a reason why: IT’S WHAT YOU CRAVE!!!!!
Seriously, the stuff is like crack. You don’t realize until you’ve tried them.
Whoever doesn’t vote for In-N-Out is a communist.
Don’t know if Culver’s really counts as fast food, but they are good. For a straight-up, no questions asked, fast food burger, gotta go with Hardees.
Culver’s FTW
How about a poll for worst burger. Then you can compare the two polls. My guess is McD will win.
Everyone who suggested Five Guys is correct. That is all.
Definitely WHATABURGER
Randy Deluxe can back me up on that one.
Checkers FTW!
I only have Mcdonalds and Burger King in my area. But knowing that people in Burger King (in my area) spits in my burgers, I voted for Mcdonalds.
Oh, without any doubt, Sonic!
I was on the fence between Carl’s Jr. and In and Out. In and Out definitely has the best basic cheeseburger around but on the other hand, Carl’s Jr. has the best variety, I mean, the Chili Cheese Burger? No one beats that. Guacamole Six Dollar Burger? Nothing touches that. Western Bacon Six Dollar? Made of win.
So I voted Carl’s Jr., variety beats In and Out. Though I would say homemade still beats all of them.
Never heard of In and Out, nor this Whataburger, but I do like my Wendy’s burgers.
And if I want to go to a restaurant, it’s Ruby Tuesday with their Ruby Mini’s or Red Robin.
Braum’s Burgers are the best by far and when you are done eating one you can get a Braum’s banana split for dessert. MMMMMMM. Hey their still open. You know where I am going.
This poll just reminds me of how privileged I am to have an In n Out near my house. Any trip to California is not complete in my opinion without trying a double double animal style. To all of you who have not heard of it, I need only one word to describe it – heavenly.
It’s definitely all about the Slyders (White Castle).
And technically, Arby’s doesn’t count, as they don’t sell burgers…
Fast food is SOOOO the ’90s.
We don’t have a lot of those around here (like In and Out (never even heard of it), Jack in the Box, and Carl’s Jr.), so based on what I’ve actually had, I say bring on the Big Macs! (had one for lunch today!)
Whataburger is ok, but they put everything I don’t like on their burgers (mustard, onions, etc.) and it’s hard to get them to change it. And their food gets cold FAST, and it’s not good cold!!
I’d definitely pick Red Robin for slow burgers. Good stuff!
I love, love, love Arby’s, but I don’t consider that to be a burger…?
While YMMV, I liked the burgers you get at ordinary diners over there a lot better than most franchise brands. Must say I haven’t even heard of most of these though
It’s definitely the Sybilla franchise in sweden.
Go there, try it, confirm it.
What the hell is that thing in the picture? That looks so gross and nasty
Ok, I only voted for Mcdonalds because between that and Burger King I tend to prefer the ones from Mcdonalds (except the Bean Burguer from BK… its actually quite good compared to the whooper). In my Country I only have Mac and BK from the list available. Scott, where did that pic come from? It looks good enough to eat!
Mainstream I would say KFC, they have pretty good chicken burgers with higher quality meat than other places. But specifically? Either the CB Hamburger inn or Charlies….Checkers? It starts with a Ch and is a local place. Huge burgers for a buck.
Max hamburgers in sweden, their ultimate cheese meal is so damn great, you actually feel it clogging all your veins
KFC zingerburger!!!!
and of course those tasty cheeseburgers from Big Kahuna Burger, accompanied with a sprite
Wow in n out wins hands down…and considering it very limited area coverage i’m surprised its as high as it is now
Hardee’s thickburgers are killer.
@mark
Oooh, I forgot about Sonic. Their fries are kind of lacking, but the Sonic Bacon Cheeseburger is quite good.
Most anyone who’s from Long Island will know what I’m talking about when I say “All American Hamburger Stand”.
Oh, and how could I forget the world-famous Jackson Hole diner?
I’ve had Whataburger and Blake’s Lotaburger. Five Guys beats them any day! Now, if only we could get Five Guys to add chopped green chile to the menu. MMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmm….
Oh, don’t go to Five Guys if you have a peanut allergy. They use peanut oil for their fries. For those of us with no peanut allergy this means their fries are heaven!
White Castle is the best ever!
I had to go with other for Harvey’s
Odd. The survey is showing that I answered even though I know 100% positively that I did not. Bug in the survey code there Scott?
Krunchy Fries. When i was in Manchester, this was my only food.
Hard Rock CafĂ© makes the best burgers, at least according to this person who’ve never been outside of Europe.
I work across from a Food Court in Washington, DC which has a Five Guys. I blame that for me gaining 5 pounds throughout the Winter. I like to call them Five Guy Fridays.
Gosh, I don’t eat fast food anymore. But when I a kid, a place called Stewart’s totally rocked.
You don’t have them in the States, so you’re forgiven, but Harvey’s should be on top of that list. Every good Canadian knows that.
Lowe’s.
I’ve never eatten at an In and Out before but I’ve heard they’re really good, but I’m suprised Burger King beat them. Maybe it’s just that they’re more wide spread.
Always preferred Wendy’s chicken sandwiches myself though. Mmmm, spicy chicken….
