Not that I encourage eating some of the monstrosities these companies produce on a daily basis, but if you had to choose one, which do you choose?

Never had in and out but it HAS to be better than the others…i have heard of its awesomeness and hopefully one will be in my area soon

  2. brian_d

Whataburger has a pretty damn good burger. They’ve assimmilated most of the south.

  3. AL7AIR

I voted for “Other” because I only sink my teeth into a self made burger lately, if I really have to grab a bite on the go I head into a Subway :)

  4. James

Way out on the right coast, Five Guys (http://www.fiveguys.com/) is one of the best ways to go. I haven’t been able to visit an In & Out burger yet, though.

  5. Pharmdawg

Since i moved from Minnesota to California I would have to say In and Out …..”Hmmm now thats a tasty burger”

  6. Freddy

Every time I’ve been to Miami/USA (I got there a lot, my girlfriend lives there) I always get sick when eating a fast food burger and NEVER get sick when I BBQ my own burgers (which I love doing and her mum likes it to, since she doesn’t have to cook).

There was this one fast food place I saw, small restaurant inside the mall called Johnny Rocket or something, way too expensive (seriously expensive, I think it was almost $10 for the burger) but it was a REALLY, REALLY good burger. We never went back though, because despite how godly it was, no single burger is worth that much.

But, it WAS the best, and the poll doesn’t say anything about value-for-money, just overall goodness. So yeah, their burger.

  7. Dr.D

what a burger. Great burgers, period.

is whataburger a south thing? Im from houston, tx.

  8. Pete

Nothing in the world will EVER compared to a Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger from Carl’s Jr.

  9. binaryspiral

I would have voted for In and Out… had my first in October last year when I was in San Jose. But I have to vote Other, because of…

    Red Robin
    http://www.redrobin.com/

    Yum!

  10. Jimmy

    What about Good Times?

    Good times, good times…

  11. MXC

What the hell is In n Out and where are they?

  12. PurrNaK

    WHITE CASTLE!!!!!!!!!!!

But seriously if you are a veggie foot eater type person or just want something different, you can’t beat the Burger King veggie burger. I actually prefer this over most other fast food places.

  13. Chris

People actually said McDonald’s was better than Carl’s Jr.? That’s a load of ridiculousness.

  14. SergeantSalad

While I’ve never eaten at In and Out, I’ll say that I can eat at Wendy’s without feeling “greased out” afterwards.

  15. tilk

Jack in the box is a horrible, horrible name

  16. thekingofjester

Mmmm… Whataburger comes in a closes second on fastfood burger’s over all, and would be first if this poll were for only major chains. But, as this doesn’t specify major or otherwise, there is a small (when I say small i mean the size of the building, not he burger itself) burger joint in my town called Fat Albert’s… wow, it’s good.

  17. koko

We don’t have most of those in Poland, but I’ve had quite some burgers in my life and Burger King is my favourite, because it’s the closest to a real, grilled burger that I use to do sometimes. Mind you, it may taste a little different here.

  18. Brett

I second Five Guys. Not sure how far they spread the chain but the burgers are very, very good.

  19. Fett101

Red Robin isn’t fast food, binaryspiral.

I’d say Burger King but that’s mostly because I’ve never bee to In and Out so their awesomeness is only second hand knowledge to me.

Weird for Arby’s to be on the list. Who would go there and pass up one of those amazing roast beefs for a burger? Do they server burgers even?

  20. supersamurai

i gotta go with james. while i want to try In N Out and Whataburger, i have a VERY hard time imagining a better burger than one at Five Guys. West/South/East burger battle :P

  21. RaXha

Well since im from sweden my choices suddelny got very limited, it’s either The King or McDonalds, so i’m gonna have to go Burger King :)

  22. jerem

SONIC! not sure why, but i love them. other than that, FuddRuckers is fast foody and they’re by far the best if you consider them fast food, which i guess it is, not quite a sit and be served restaurant.

  23. John

    Home Burgers are the best!

  24. Agent Eggroll

In and Out is a west coast thing, the furthest one away from the west coast that I have seen is in Las Vegas, but since Scott has one near him in Utah, I guess there is one out there. In and Out is actually made with real food, not that crap in McDonald’s, which is why it tastes so good.

  25. Cephas

It’s a chain that’s pretty much just here in the Midwest, but I love the burgers at Culver’s.

  26. Steven

Of the choices there I’m gonna go with Carl’s Jr. So much flavor on those. We’ve got In and Out and Whataburger in Arizona but I’m really missing the Good Times burgers from Colorado. I guess they have a couple in Wyoming, but they haven’t expanded very far.

  27. Dan

The Carl’s Jr/Hardees angus thickburgers are like hot buttery love. If you are on a low carb kick, as I am, they will wrap the succulent patties in Romaine for your consumption. Even if you are not, it is also a great flavor without crappy white bread soaking up all of the flavor and drying your mouth.

  28. The Loud Ninja

There’s a couple of restaurants around Dallas that make awesome burgers, both of them local only: Afrah and Grand Cafe. You can’t call it fast food though. They take their time making it (no reheated meat patties for them, thanks), but mmmm, mmmm, mmmm, the end result is sooo worth it.

Man, now I’m hungry. I so have to stop by and get one tonight.

  29. jj

    haha other is winning

I am outside the US. Here independent – nameless places are much more common, better, and cheaper than any of those listed

  30. Robert

Another vote for Whataburger. As a life long Texan (Houston to be exact), I have been in there hundreds of times. They make an A-1 Thick and Hearty Burger that is amazing. Two patties of meat, bacon, grilled onions (none of that pansy ass lettuce and tomato) shredded cheddar cheese and a heaping helping of A-1 steak sauce.

    Damn. I am hongry now.

  31. Jables

Braum’s has the best burgers. Ever.

  32. Addiction

Dairy queen for me, i have been to whataburger on holidays to texas and it was good as well.

  33. jeebuzz

LICKS is a great place if ur in canada

  34. ScottyD

I like the idea of other. Burger Supreme is really good near where I live.

  35. JoPiss

Why do you guys think Wendy’s is good? It’s horrible, all they can make is chicken burgers! And even those are mediocre! Carl’s Jr. and BK are defiantly the best. And you haven’t lived until you’ve eaten some Dick’s. Their burgers are the best in Seattle.

  36. Cephas

For the record, I think it’s awesome that “Other” is winning. Seriously, how often does that happen?

  37. hitechredneck

Uhhh…not sure if maybe things are just backwards because I live in Alabama, but Arby’s doesn’t actually sell burgers do they? Just Roast Beef and what not…at least that’s all they sell around here. And I too have to give my vote to Five Guys. They just recently opened up here and all I can say is wow. No other fast-food burger even comes close.

  38. Mr. Mustard

Anyone’s who’s never had Five Guys needs to make up an excuse to go to Washington. Five Guys and Half-Smokes power the Federal Government.

  39. mercator

Arby’s roast beef kicks hambrugers’ butts IMHO.

I make hamburgers myself, mostly, but the lure of a McDonald’s cheeseburger does hit me once a year or so.

  40. NSMike

I didn’t vote, so I didn’t screw up the results by going outside of the rules, but personally, I’ll go with Red Robin.

  41. Slayeric

I picked Other because I prefer Bojangles’ burgers. I had one today for lunch. Godly…

  42. CDRaff

Whataburger, and my personal fave Lotaburger (started at darn near the same time in Texas and New Mexico) make some great burgers! My real fave is Fat Burger. Really good fast food burgers.

  43. Darth_yoda (UK)

Well here in the United Kingdom we don’t have most of those, but we do have Burger King and McDonalds. Don’t u guys have Denny’s Diner?

  44. nilum87

I’m sorry, but Mosburger, found only in Japan and Hawaii, is the best fast food burger.

  45. Moobie

    Burgers?!?!?

    EAT MORE CHICKEN!

  46. Void Munashii

I’m really surprised In N Out wasn’t on there. I personally do not like them, but everyone I know seems to think they are the best thing ever. I just find them to be insanely overrated, like Krispy Kreme was until they imploded.

It’s a hard choice between Jack in the Box and Wendy’s. I went with Wendy’s in the end for the Baconator.

As for places without a drive-thru window, I agree with binaryspiral; Red Robin is awseome. They put a frickin’ fried egg on a burger. Sheer genius!

  47. Barlow

Sonic or Good Times for me

  48. veronica

    IN N’ OUT!!!!oneone111!!!one!!11!!one!!1

  49. Alex

I would have to say Burgerville. It’s only located in the Northwest and is one of the best fast food burgers out there by far. If you ever make it up to the Northwest area (Washington and Oregon not sure if there are any in Idaho) should give it one shot at least.

  50. josh

Culver’s double cheeseburger with fried cheese curds is the best fast food meal.
