Got this from EL fan Ramius:
I was playing Jade Empire for the PC and stumbled upon a character named Dong Ping – clearly a disguise for our favorite chinaman Ding Pong.
Hmmm…click the thumbnail and decide for yourself. Love the German. MINE LABEN!!!

Actually it’s spelled “mein Leben” and I still have no frickin clue where this comes from.
where what comes from?
SUE THEM!!!
Jade Empire maybe?
I think he means where does Ding Pong come from.
Are you wondering where the phrase ‘mein leben’ comes from? Wolfenstein 3D. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wolfenstein_3D
MEIN LEBEN
and the guy say that he’s some kind of farmer who employes a guy named Zhong who accidentally killed a cow… yeah sure.. accidentally… sick game!
Yes, the mein Leben phrase.
yeah, Wolfenstein 3D is where I am getting mein reference.
I once knew a girl that had her mein leben pierced.
Once had a level editor for Wolf 3d, made one long corridor filled with those blue ss guys, and gave myself a chaingun and lots of ammo. you wouldn’t believe how selfish they all became when you gunned down 100 in a row…
they went: “Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein, Mein”
for those who are unaware what “Mein Leben” means. it’s German for “My Life”…
^^ That was me.. stupid coockie reseted thing.. arg..,. sorry for double postaging
Andrew, that knowledge was not needed.
btw : a german would never say “Mein Leben” if you killed one. Even not a Nazi.
More likely would be something like “Aargh!” or “Warum?!”

So in german Scott’s site would be:
“Mein Extra Leben”
AWESOME!
Yeah Scott,
give us more of your german vocabulary.
Please!
or to put it your way. Mi Ekstra Live. XD
Since Wolf3D is banned in Germany, there is no way we can know where that phrase comes from.
Good fight, good night.
a character saying “mein leben!” when he dies is approximately as ridiculous as the famous “all your base are belong to us”-phrase… i think its hilarious that the sentences we remember best from the old games are the silliest ones
I actually thought “Mine Laben” was supposed to mean “Meine Lieben” ..
“I actually thought “Mine Laben” was supposed to mean “Meine Lieben” ..”
That be exactly as ridiculous as “Mein Leben”!
(For our non-german-speaking friends: Meine Lieben = my loved ones)
imagine there was a “would” in between “that” and “be”
