Every now and again I get a wild hair and I go crazy with something obsessively for weeks on end. Sometimes it’s music, sometimes it’s classic TV, sometimes it’s movies. I did a back to back marathon of every Dick Van Dyke show ever made last week. A couple months ago, I watched nearly every documentary Netflix streams.
Well, this week it’s typical RTS games. I reloaded Starcraft, Warcraft III, Age of Mythology, Age of Empires III, Rise of Nations, and Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom, and played a bit of each. Yeah, probably crazy.

I know what you mean about the comics getting expensive. It started out as $10-$15 a week now I’m up to $30-50 a week.
What are you reading?
Well when I get a new computer, probably WOW or City of Heroes and Villians. I haven’t decided which one I will choose!
Rewatching The Matrix movies.
& Wii modding/homebrew/harddrive.
Michael Jackson’s music. Hot damn, I know I was born in 1990, but how did I miss this much awesome?
Robert Downey, Jr. movies. Any and all. I think I’ve literally seen them all except two. Not all of them are good, but some of them are great (ex. Chaplin, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang). And he’s wonderful in all of them. A really talented actor, regardless of what the media labels him. Hence this obsession, I’ve picked up the Iron Man comic book – I had no idea comics could be so… well, cool. Waiting with bated breath for Iron Man 2! Oh, and Sherlock Holmes. And Mastermind. So yeah. Definitely obsessed.
Oh, and I’ve rediscovered KOTOR. Man, that game is *good*.
reading- The Night Angel Trilogy
Picked up Final Fantasy 7 for the first time in years, so whats old is new again i guess lol
procrastinating a whole lot. i actually kept pushing back writing this.
i also started half life 2 again. i’m starting ep1 soon.
Trine! The game is excellent! Went to bed FAR too late last night because I couldn’t stop playing it.
Rock Band 2. This game is sucking down my soul. Finally unlocked the Infinite Setlist so I can get my platinum status and don’t know where I’m going to find the 4 consecutive hours to complete it! DAMN YOU ACHIEVEMENTS!

Currently, I’m hooked on playing Puzzle Quest on the 360.
Hulu: SG-1 S4, Sliders S3, Sea Patrol, trying to get into Merlin, but it is hard.
Games: Reloaded Civ4 BTS and some maps and mods for it. Just took the Italians to victory in WW2 with Germany in tow. Thinking hard about reloading NWN1 and playing some of the add-ons I bought and never used… That or go buy Zehir or Westgate for NWN2 and see if they are any good. Betrayer was okay, but NWN1 is just a better game. Saw some blog on Morrowind and seriously thought about that reload, but classes start up again next week, so I don’t have that much time. I think I have one of those band of brothers FPS games I never loaded too. At least the box is on the shelf – hopefully the DVD is still inside.
Hobbies: Also obsessed with scale model kits, especially aircraft. Wife tolerates that half the garage looks like a hobby shop because they don’t really drop too much in value, and some have really gone up since I bought them.
Summer is short shorts season for my wife, so I must say I am a bit obsessed with that too :O
Once class begins again, I will obsessed with that – gotta get my money’s worth!
Watching Arrested Development through for the 4th time, and totally hooked on The Wire.

Lately I’ve been obsessed with The Dresden Files. I’ve read 7 of the books this year, bought 2 graphic novels, and watched the whole TV series on HULU. I’m also totally obsessed with the Spike TV show Deadliest Warrior and RoosterTeeth.com.
Mount&Blade, a brilliant yet tragically obscure rts/rpg from indie developers Taleworlds. I seriously recommend that anyone who’s into that sort of thing take a look at Taleworlds.com and consider getting hold of it. It’s a bit rough around the edges in terms of presentation, but the depth of gameplay redees it and then some.
It reminds me of a song by Cannibal Ox; It’s called “The F-word”.

Watching Star Trek: tNG s1 – 7
Yes, I was inspired by the podcast on it.
Started playing WoW again, the damn seasonal events hook me in… otherwise only one RTS which is Sins of a Solar Empire, great game and for turn based strategy, Empire Total War and Civ 4 BTS with the Fall From Heaven 2 mod, if you have not tried the Fall From Heaven Mod you MUST is beats the original game hands down, check it out.

Need to get back into WoW though, that’s a true time sink.
Catching up with ELR (currently on the 170s and I’ve spent my commute for the past two months listening to both ELR and the Instance)
And I’ve started a project to acquire all sorts of Crappy Movies of the Week and watch at least two B-movies every week. Besides this, I’ve made it my mission to catch up on TV shows that I’ve not seen in ages (Viper, SWAT Kats, Angel, Psi Factor) and TV shows I’ve never really had the chance to watch due to crappy scheduling on my stations’ part (Farscape and Firefly are the current candidates here).
Sooo my current obsessions revolve around quality non-interactive entertainment thatn I’ve never gotten the chance to thouroughly enjoy.
Dear sweet baby Jesus, I read through this list and realized I’ve had about 2/3 of these obsessions myself at one point in time over the last year or two. Right now I guess it’d be BSG (I never watched it when it was being broadcast, so I’ve dedicated my entire Netflix queue to the DVD’s) and my brand new GameFly account, renting games for my Wii and 360. Fallout 3 is on the way now.
