…but Speilberg got them down to PG13 with NO cuts or changes. Interesting. Thanks to James for the link, and thanks to Stephen for these additional promo photos.

I wonder what all gets said in talking down a rating. I’d like to hear that conversation.
I’m guessing something a long the lines of..
Hi I’m Stephen Spielberg lower the rating from R to pg13
Yes sir, of course sir, would you like me to perform oral sex on you sir?
That reminds me. One of Alfred Hitchcock’s movies was sent in to be rated and was rejected for whatever reason. He sent the exact same film back without any changes and they approved the film. Funny stuff.
So Spielberg just talked them into it??
I figured they had to edit out all the Autobot boobys
Please tell me the decepticon that steps out of the pool smashes the little girl that is in the trailer. Let us see how evil they really are. Anyone that has seen the trailer knows what scene im talking about.
Rated R for “Reep rop reep rop?”
Actually there was a pretty graphic robot mating shot in there that was removed. I think it was at the GM factory.
Re: Chris, Yes, I do hope that the little girl dies via decepticon smashing. No, they won’t show it but it needs to be obviously implied. Decepticons are evil, and they view humans as nothing more then inferior lifeforms on a useless planet, they should stomp us out with ruthless impunity. I’m very happy with the “argued” stepdown from R to PG-13 without editing. Poor thing TMNT is PG, no more Raphael cursing for losing his Sai.
I’m not sure I follow Ceiynt… the original TMNT movie was rated PG as well.
interested in how the rating thingy works ? the documentary “this film is not yet rated” is not just pretty funny, it gives a good insight into how the mpaa rating board operates
and yes… i do hope for the girl-gets-smashed-scene too
Yes, let’s have a over the top gore fest in this flick, despite the fact that KIDS of all ages are going to be wanting to see this movie. What happened to good storytelling without excessive bloodshed? I seem to remember a little series called Star Wars that managed to be a pretty rousing little romp (At least parts 4, 5, and 6) and just happen to be watchable for just about anyone out there.

@ Microeric: “What happened to good storytelling without excessive bloodshed?” Oxymoron alert! “Excessive bloodshed” means my eyes bleed from watching the crappy movie.
Hehe, yeah, The Island was enough to make me swearoff the next big summer blockbuster until I heard the reviews. The thing I keep seeing, on various Transformers forums is how many people want this movie to make the opening sequence in ‘Saving Private Ryan’ look like something you would see on Spongebob.
Maybe it’s my age, sigh, I’m older than even Scott.

“When is the Captain Crunch movie coming out, and will it be R or Hard R?”
Seriously, that Homer Simpson quote is what this feels like. This is the Transformers. THE. TRANSFORMERS.
