Veteran Disney animator Robb Pratt – whose work includes Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Tarzan – has created a one-minute short film entitled Superman Classic. The whole thing is a mixture of hand-drawn animation and digital effects, and is definitely fantastic. Really takes you back to those Saturday mornings watching cartoons.
Make sure you watch through to the end, as Pratt has a bit to say about his creation.

I loved this…and I am sooo jealous of his workstation. It actually inspired me to do some basic animating again (which I haven’t done for years). Don’t really have the time to commit because of work, but I have been playing with some animation apps on the iPad.
That was very old school, in a good way. Thanks for sharing this.
Very awesome. Too bad they don’t actually do quality animation cartoons anymore.
That was a fresh breath of air. Loved it!
Love this! and there is a real, classic superman that I thought about when I saw this

great animation and great music too
Nice find Andreas. Interesting how relatively weak superman was back in those days when compared to modern iterations.
That’s why, at least from Disney, my favorite flicks were Lilo and Stitch, and The Princess and the Frog.
Both traditionally animated, watercolored backgrounds, etc. They just have way more life than the shlock Diz has been putting out for years.
This is fantastic, Great find Bud!
