Ok, don’t get me wrong. I am LOVING this season of Lost…I LOVE the flash forwards…there is not much I don’t like. BUT, I still thought this was sort of funny. :)

Agreed, Scott. Last week’s episode was awesome (not sure about the rest).

    First again?

Dude, they are messing with the time. Long time ago they said there would be reasonable explanation for all of this, but now they are messing with the time…

  3. TPNRachel

    Eeeeee, Lost.

And yeah, last week’s episode = THE BEST EVER!

I’ve already watched it again… Is that sad?

  4. mercator

I haven’t ever seen an episode of Lost. I wear it like a badge of honor :P

Of course I don’t even watch TV, so that isn’t saying much. Internet for news, lots of other things to do with my time (like study for two master’s degrees and play the occasional video game), and keep $70 a month in cable or satellite tv fees.

  5. bezdomnoi

mercator, you’re missing out. Loving Lost though I wish I had waited till the series was completed to start watching it. The wait for new episodes kills me.

  6. Chris Knight

this is a great comic i just love it even if i didn’t get the joke at first it was still funny :)

Your comic looks a little different today. Not sure what it is but it looks nice. Or maybe it’s just me…

  8. brian_d

You know what? I have yet to see an episode of Lost. That’s right.. I’ve IGNORED this show.. and will continue to do so. :-P

    That is all.

As for the comic, the background really makes the comic pop better. It’s like a heavenly glow right before the blastwave destroys the Lost Fan-boy. :-)

hahahahaah so true. Episode 5 of Lost has been one of my fave’s so far in the season. Can’t wait to see more Locke tho.

Does anyone have any theories about who the two reamining members of the oceanic 6 are?

  10. Offlink

@ Darth Yoda: I don’t know, but I have a feeling that there’s more of them off the island besides the oceanic 6 that are living under assumed identities. Also, I don’t really count Aaron in the 6 either.

  11. TPNRachel

@ Darth Yoda: Read an interesting theory the other day… Someone basically said that the Oceanic 6 were the only people that COULD leave the island safely, because they weren’t near the electromagnetic blastiness from the hatch, so they won’t suffer the crazy side effects when they leave.

Sayid, Sun, and Jin were on a boat on the other side of the island…
Jack, Kate, Hurley, and Sawyer were on the other side of the island with the others.

4 out of those 7 are the people from the Oceanic 6… So my bet is on Sun and Jin. As for Sawyer… I have no idea.

  12. DahCheet

@TPNRachel: That’s an interesting theory but it doesn’t explain why Aaron was able to get off the island since he was on the beach when the hatch did it’s thing. If anything the electromagnetic blast would have MORE of an effect on Aaron since he was a baby since babies are much more affected by most things than adults. *shrugs*

I am wondering if Ben was considered one of the Oceanic 6 since he’s Sayid’s employer in The Economist. Of course, he couldn’t go by the name Ben when picked up since he wasn’t on the manifest but he’s always been a good liar. If he’s not one of the Oceanic 6 then he might have gotten off the island by pretending to be one of the rescuers. But that’s a whole new bag of theories.

I just got into Lost. My friend introduced it to me a couple weeks ago and I’ve watched all of Seasons 1, 2, and 3 before diving into Season 4. It’s all incredibly amazing and now I am probably going to go crazy waiting a week between episodes.

  13. TPNRachel

@DahCheet: Yeah, Aaron is the hole in that theory. Not quite sure how to account for him. But it’s interesting, nonetheless.

I just got into Lost, too… A couple months ago… I never knew anything about it before then. But it’s such a wonderful show.

  14. TheChao

the last episode was the best in a long time.

  15. Aticus

Careful Scott, your future-self might get a bloody nose :-P

  16. Labbug

@DahCheet: You are assuming that Aaron is Claire’s Aaron and not Kate’s child then. If that were the case then why would Jack not want to see him? hmmmmm. If they all got off the island together then he would know who Aaron’s mother really is. Or father as the case may be. Remember why Jack’s father was in Australia?

  17. Dahcheet

I’m going to put this out there now that my post will have some spoilers in it although I think we may have already passed that barrier without any warning (sorry to those who hate spoilers, I know I do).

Yeah, but they’re all lying about what happened on the island anyway. During the trial Jack says the plane landed in the water and that only eight survived the crash and that the Oceanic Six were the only survivors afterwards. Why not keep up the lying and say that Aaron is Kate’s kid? Assuming something happened to the rest of the group (or they stayed on the island for some reason (continued research? exposure to electromagnetic whatever? [insert theory here]) maybe Claire gave up Aaron so that he could grow up in a better life off the island. Or maybe Jack negotiated to take Aaron off with them for Claire. There’s lots of what-if’s and how’s that we’re all waiting to fill in.

And which instance of Jack’s father being in Australia are you talking about? From what I’ve seen they all can’t be the same visit. When he visits after Claire’s car accident and Claire finds out he’s her father, it’s a good deal of time BEFORE the flight that crashes (dark hair, not pregnant) and then she visits her mother later on where the hospital room is completely setup like a bedroom, she’s got blonde hair, and she’s pregnant which insinuates that some time has passed. The next visit when Anna Lucia is escorting him (the one where he dies after meeting Sawyer at the bar) I think he tries to see Claire again but her Aunt won’t let him.

I don’t know why you would think that would have any impact on whether Jack knows who Aaron’s real father would be. Jack had no idea about his relationship with Claire and the only one who could tell him about it would be Claire’s aunt since Claire never learned Jack’s dad’s name (at least she didn’t want to know when they first met), her mom is a vegetable, and Jack’s dad is dead (assumed….). Unless of course Aaron’s father came asking questions when he found out there were survivors of 815 and wondered what happened to Claire. Even still, I think Jack sees Aaron as a reminder that they’re protecting whoever was left behind (or whatever happens/ed) by lying to everyone about what happened. It’s quite the web of lies and mystery. Can’t wait for Thursday.

  18. Dahcheet

I just realized I used up a good amount of my lunch hour on that post…. I think I’ve been sucked into this show.

Hi, my name is DahCheet and I’m addicted to Lost.

  19. Christopher7xii

In response to why Jack would not want to see Aaron? Same reason why at the end of season 3 he was going to jump off the bridge. Guilt.

*Previous Episode SPOILERS – If you haven’t watched Lost yet, don’t read Past this*

He’s probably responsible for everyone ASIDE from the Oceanic 6 getting rescued. That’s why he wants to go back to the island. So he’s probably responsible for either Claire getting left behind or her possibly dying at some point. Considering the show is introducing a form of time travel (being able to know knowledge from the future and bring back into the past to change the course of events) – There’s a good chance this may come into play for ‘fixing’ whatever happens on the island that causes all this horribleness.

Here’s a question though. If Desmond is psychic’ish (predicting Charlie’s death would lead to the boat making contact with the island and such) – The *ONLY* reason why Charlie did this was because Desmond said Claire and Aaron would be getting onto a helicopter if he died hitting that button. What is going to cause this to change?

  20. yusecki

    Heh heh doucheface, funny.

  21. LucaStefan

    Starbuck is dead!

  22. LucaStefan

Also, did they answer the bit with the giant statue?

  23. Offlink

    @LucaStefan: Not quite yet.

  24. Gene

I don’t even watch Lost and this is funny.

  25. Carl

I’m actually watching the first season finale for the like…third time. My brother-in-law is visiting and swore he’d never watch LOST, and now he has watched the whole season in like…three days.

  26. khaled

latest episode did raise some issues with “time travel”
I suggest listening to the latest audio podcast from the executive producers … Find it in iTunes. Search for official lost podcast

Lost has done a Kickflip McTwist over the shark.
