Wanted to post this here and get your thoughts. Looks like another great edition of the Gear series. Though we still have a few moments of “what the crap” going on in there. Nice to hear some enga-reetch too. Here is the vid. Thanks for the link, Vlad!

MGS is looking good, still some silly overthetopedness as ever, but enough badassery to get away with it.
i think we scott should stop calling MGS the Gear series, we don’t want to confuse it with Gears of War
Debrin the arms dealer – I figure maybe some sort of continual upgrade system, similar to Resi 4?
Olgas daughter – Sunny? – Gonna be a key figure. I think the storyline will end up swinging on her somehow
The asian looking chick – not decided…Mei Ling? Rose? Who knows.
I like the way Meryl is back though. Not so fond to see Vamp back. eugh.

I love MGS. I played the first one and was so captivated by it, even though I sucked at it to start out with. This one looks to be real entertaining. I didn’t like the “cow” MG’s to start out with, but I guess their okay, and from the screen shots of gameplay, this looks awesome.
I do have to agree with Phoenix, “Not so fond to see Vamp back.”
The elite force, “FROGS” isn’t too bad. At least their not call, “Kittens” and show up with a meow and then start shooting you. ROFL!
Well, it’s MGS. That’s for sure.
Neat, totally want to see more gameplay footage though. Don’t get me wrong, I love the plot and plot points, but the gameplay is what stands out to me in the MGS series.
i’ll buy a ps3 just for a MG rex vrs. MG ray fight.
that and vamp is awesome so i’m glad he’s back. The vamp vrs. raiden fight in the earlier trailers kicked ass.

I’ve never played a MGS game, but this game has looked appealing from the start. This is one of the main reasons that I bought a PS3.

@ Gawl: He’s the faceless soldier who always seems to gets struck with diarrhea. He’s not kidding about what he said of him being a war veteran, though. He has been in past MGS games.
Every one of the MGS games has had a Jonny somewhere.
MGS 1 – I only played it once, but I think he’s the guard that looks after Snake when he’s being helf in prison.
MGS 2 – While Emma is traversing the edge of Big Shell, and you’re picking off enemies and mines with your sniper rifle, you can use the sound reciever to hear a conversation between her and Jonny around one of the rigs.
MGS 3 – Never played it, but a friend says you meet Jonny when Snake/Big Boss is in prison. Spoiler. Oops.

Mgs1 – Johnny was the second guard keeping Meryl and the DARPA chief in their cell, however from the vents snake crawls in he was in the toilet the whole time, and meryl knocked him out and took his clothes
MGS2 – When you were posing as one of the soldiers to meet the president (I think, can’t remember the specifics) you can use the mic receiver and point it at the toilets to hear Johnny take the longest crap ever with dialog it was like 5minutes of the runs with sound effects.
And in MGS3 you met with Johnny’s Grandfather while snake was captured, who inevitably has the same bowel problems..
MGS4 and MGO should be an awesome pair. Seems old snake is in MGO as well, how that works I dont know, maybe you can get him to join your side if you get a goal completed or something. Either way it looks good, like a mix of MGS4 and GRAW.
Certainly a unique trailer, I rather liked it even though I hardly understood it.

Im not gonna lie i love my 360 but all the nonsense about metal gear aside i still kinda wanna play it…. And i bash these games so much and id probably end up doing the same once i got through with it but the only thing mgs is to me is just a fun experience so i love it for that.
This will be the game that shows the PS3 is far superior to the xbox360.
