…Although..yeah, that doesn’t make sense. I fully intend every pun in the following sentence which I will use to detract from the fact that what I said in my previous comment made no sense! Quick, build a time machine so you can go back in time and take a picture of yourself!
The idea isn’t new, of course, it is a kind of a recursive picture (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Droste_effect). The execution is neat, though, simple yet effective, and very creative.
I like it. However, the person holding the picture needs to squat down more to match the pic with the background. sidewalks aren’t lined up. but otherwise, awesome idea
Reminds me of the intro from a short-lived TV series called New Amsterdam (which is on Hulu), where the guy takes a shot of Times Square every year for the hundreds of years he has lived.
Despite the fact the background is out of focus, it’s still a neat demonstration of black & white photos being sharper than color. Oh yeah, very cool too! . @raybiker73: Those Leningrad pics… I’ll second the “EXTREMELY awesome!” What a powerful statement. I can imagine something like that done with the countryside around Gettysburg.
@Erich: great idea! I usually make a couple pilgrimages across the state to Gettysburg each year (I used to be a reenactor). Next time, I’ll take a collection of period photos with me and try to match some stuff up.
Okay that was just ridiculous. First I get pestered to log into Yahoo, and THEN I get pestered to set up a bloody flickr account, only to be presented with “Oops! You don’t have permission to view this page.”
That’s awesome.
When you say you have ideas I immediately think of this http://www.flickr.com/photos/scottjohnson/773024786/

That gives me ideas too for things even more awesome.
you really need to check this out, then. It’s EXTREMELY awesome. I forget where I found this…for all I know, it might have been here!!

Pretty cool pic. You could always try drawing a comic by extending a picture.
And those Russian pics are really cool.

Oh wow that is really cool.

It’s Photoshopping a pic without using a computer!

Go for it, RB–you may get into the news and a museum or two with that, or at least a twisted comic blog.
I can’t see it…

Goddamn flickr sucks ass.
