Oh boy…can’t wait for this one! Probably the best story in the history of graphic novels ever, The Watchmen trailer is apparently playing in some cities with The 300. Worth the checking out of.

Please… don’t EFF this one up!!!
thing is.. how are they going to fit that much story into one movie? will it be a series of films or something?
Yeah, that’s an awfully big book….
Yeah, I’ve always been hoping for an HBO mini-series. Sci-Fi Channel would be cool, but based on the themes, I think it needs to have the freedom to go where it needs to.
so far we have been told that its only a screen test for the movie. the shot itself was a mini teaser in a 300 trailer which people have picked up on. As for director, it will be the same guy as the one who did 300 and the dawn of the dead remake (which i thought was amazing). I personally dont think they can give this comic justice but there be a cut down version in the cinema and a fully extended one on dvd i assume. But yeah watchmen wooooooo. (p.s. im totally down with the suggestion on micheal keaton as rosarch).
It would be very cool if this were done in the storytelling style a la Sin City.
Though I wonder if Carrot-Top might be a good choice for Rorsach…
just saying…you know…goofy face, and the hair…:P
300 looks stylistically perfect and appears to capture the graphic novel very well. But if we’re honest, Frank Miller’s novels are usually quite superficial, which is why they adapt well to the big screen.
It’s not a bad thing, but they have no where near the depth of an Alan Moore novel. Unless they let Moore write the script, I’m not convinced watchmen will result in anything good. Just look at the mess they made with From Hell.
@ Brother Barn:
Please feel better in the knowledge that you were not the only one that thought Carrot Top looks like Rorschach… I too think he looks exactly like a younger version of him.
If we could only get him to act, though.
i have a bad feeling about this
As already mentioned, that’s a hell of a lot of story to make into a film. There’s the references to other superhero type things, the scope of the story, the background info etc
Well, i think we can already predict Alan Moore’s reaction anyway, he’ll hate it from the outset
Moore already refused to acknowledge any movie based on his word.
Even before LXG…
The 300 trailer included gives away the entirety of the freaking movie! (If you pay attention)
I watched 300 twice.
It’s awesome.
Rorschach! Yay! xP I have the original 12 seperate comics from 1986, no sissy compiled book here. xD Yeah… I love these books. They had better not mess up the movie. If they do then I will be emotionally scarred for life.
