Sleepers are bad ass mothas. Personally I am more of a fan of their latest intro movie (but I’m a sucker for awesome narration). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNyfI4dv1dg . Also, it doesn’t get much better than EVE machinima. . So, are you prepared, Scott? . ~Locke
Sorry, almost forgot. Speaking of machinima: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXWf-l71MY4 . CCP handed over the keys to their trailer software to a player and see what happens?
only thing i understood about that was explosions… stations exploding… lasers…. new ships… more explosions and little music accompanied with some wicked lettering for the title.
I have tried Eve a few times, but I never make it out of the trial period before I get bored with it. The game looks great but it just gets old quick for me.
I played EVE when it first came out. It was at the time the most beautiful game graphics I had ever seen. It was absolutely gorgeous to look at. I quit because it was nothing but a PvP camping mess. High level players camp at jumpgates and after the obligatory “gimme moneys or die” request blow you from the sky.
After more than two years from the game, I thought maybe the developers would have found a way around that, but sadly, no. Make your jump through the jumpgate with cargo hold full of profit making stuff, cue the “gimme moneys” pirates, and voila, world of suck.
Its pretty much a niche game. But I’ve been playing it for over a year and I’m having heaps of fun. I’m more involved with the industry side of the game. which is the deepest crafting mechanic you’ll ever see.
oh and crypto pvp is a fact of life in EVE. but there is a thing called sec rating for a system. gate camps usually ocurr when you cross from high sec to low sec.
In high sec you just get suicided by some maniac willing to sacrifice his own ship to the police just to blow you up!
I am playing EVE now, I don’t remember the interface looking anything like that – EVE is a good game, you just need more to do while you’re waiting for skills to train – 22 days training a skill and I haven’t logged on once.
It takes more of an investment than most MMO players are willing to give. The new tutorial “epic arc” missions are worth doing, however. You get a series of free ships all the way up to a respectable frigate. During just the trial period I was able to, playing a few hours a few days a week, train up to Tech2 armaments and got all the way to the end of the mission earning enough ISK to buy myself several well outfitted destroyers. I wasn’t attacked once by a pirate, though I did see them and I took a few risks jumping to a few low-sec stations for a good price on a training book or ship part. Play smart, join a good corp and you can have some fun. I just wish I had more time. It’s definitely not for everyone.
Been playing for over a year, love it! I got to play in 0.0 space with a corp and alliance which is a total different animal. The key to having fun is joining a good corp, there is nothing like multi-ship fleets doing missions and patrols. imho
The game is a sandbox. If you’re bored in a sandbox, it’s not the sandboxes fault.
Don’t like the empire play? Join a low-sec corp. Don’t like the nuisance of pirates? Join a 0.0 NBSI corp (Not Blue Shoot It). Whatever you do, don’t spend more then a week in the NPC corps if you can help it.
I’ve been playing EVE for years and I love it. Nothing else is as dynamic and interesting as EVE is. It’s the only game that is actually worth playing. I’ll screw around in other MMO’s occasionally, but nothing else feels worthwhile as it’s all just a grind. EVE is a living universe where your actions really matter in the game.
Anyone here who says it’s boring isn’t trying hard enough. DaemonBarber has it right. All comments that say “played for 2 weeks and found out it suck” are innacurate.
EVE doesn’t hold your hand like WoW with a little newbie area with level 1 sheepfucking; you NEED to be social in order to get anywhere. Solo grind simply doesn’t work for a new player
Damn you scott johnson…….i was clean for 2 years…..now thanks to you posting that trailer i’ve started up an Eve account again………at least i’m not a minmitard this time though….
They also make a gorgeous MMO… to bad it is boring as watching grass grow. Scratch that… as it is an insult to grass.
Yeah, I actually d/led the trial and wanted to die just playing the Tutorials. I uninstalled it after 2 hours.

Yeah, EVE O has some of the best trailers around. Very visually pleasing stuff.
What action you get ingame is extremely dependant on your ability to not get lost doing something that’s not for you though

One great thing about EVE: Pretty much that entire GORGEOUS trailer was made with the in-game engine sans the map bits.
One horrible thing about EVE: ZZzzZZZZzzZzZzzzzZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz *snort*

Great looking game, but like most people, I always had issues with the gameplay because it’s like playing Microsoft Excel the MMO.
Eve Online is a graphical Market Simulation, in space. It’s addictive.
It was k
Beautiful trailer, though confusing and boring.
Martin’s right, that trailer only reminds me of one thing. Boredom. That trailer is as boring as EVE is to play.
I must echo the sentiments of boredom about EVE-Online, and the trailer did not seem to contradict that.
empire play is definaly a snooze fest. you can only float around with the care bears for so long before you go stir crazy.
best way to make eve fun? become one of the bad guys and never ever look back.
Eve rocks.. You can do anything. If you like Crayons, stick to Wow, if you read Hawkings, play backgammon, and drink chanti, then play Eve.
Yeah. If you’re a wino with money to burn, play EVE-Online.
The game is a sandbox. If you’re bored in a sandbox, it’s not the sandboxes fault.
