There is some scary stuff in here from both India and Turkey. Why don’t they have their own superheroes?

Oh dear …… what have they done?!?!?!!?

Going deeper in the link, the turkish star wars…. highly entertaining. I want giant lobster robots to attack someone someday.

    Superman and Spider-Woman? I think they’re confused…

    ALso watch these http://www.fantent.com/2007/02/04/turkish-star-wars-superman-et-and-more/
I like how Luke dont have a light saber in the turkish version but instead those clobbering gloves and he can rip poeples heads off.
(Also note the Indiana Jones music inthe Star Wars clip)
    :-D

Well, they’re still both better that Superman 3 and 4.

Couple of thoughts on the Bollywood version:
    - apparently, everyone in India loves the song and dance routines.
    - why is Lois Lane wearing a Spiderman costume?
    - that fight sequence was somewhat amusing (stop hitting your partner! stop hitting your partner!)

Also, that Turkish Superman definitely had a badass feel to him.

    Faster than a speeding boat!

i only hope Superman and Spider-Man (woman) never tango in the air again.

You know what? I’m getting tired of all these spoilers, now Superman is ruined for me.

    /sarcasm off

Turkish and Indian lawyers must be badass, since the studios had the balls to do that stuff :)

lol at the Turkish Star Wars. He doesn’t have a lightsaber, but he can kick and his feet goes through bodies and he can rip heads off. He even uses someones head as a weapon, he throws it at another guy and it explodes lol.

I always loved crossovers in comic books, but I think they took some liberty with theirs (the creepy bollywood one) I think the turkish one looks about right for the time.

Indiana Jones music in the Turkish Star Wars? WTF?

  14. Prashanth

    I’m from India and I haven’t seen that Superman before..yikes! :)
And Scott, we *do* have superheroes of our own…dude, this here is a county with 630 million Gods and Godlings.. we’re raised on a diet of stories of Gods taking on Demons and whatnot!
On a more contemporary note, check out Virgin comics – they’ve taken ancient Indian stories and heroes and mixed them with more modern timelines..and the result is quite impressive. Check out “Sadhu”, “Devi” and “Ramayana”

Yeap. We do have local heroes as well but this is just a comparison between the Supermen Supermans.. and Spiderwoman just came along from nowhere =)

Well, as I understand it, dance is so important in Indian culture that every Bollywood film is expected to have at least one dancing scene, usually more… Moviegoers would feel cheated without the dance routine…

Just as we now expect every action movie to have bullet-time effects…

By the way, the Indian thriller that was posted a while ago is just a parody… Chiranjeevi is the best paid actor in India, and that video is a Yankovic-type parody in Bollywood style, part of a film named Khaidi.
