Bitflicks is a new small site, that is offering small animations centred around video games, and the first animation is quite something. Paying homage to Nintedo, the creator has used a mix of stop motion, lego and CGI to create an animation of the first level in Super Mario World 3 on the NES.
Judging by the first video, I think it’s safe to say Bitflicks is getting bookmarked.
Looks to me like someone captured some video angled it and added lines to it. There’s too many colors in it that are not real legos and all the tiles are 2 x 2… not even sure if Lego has that many 2 x 2 blocks.
I agree. While it looks way cool, it is impossible to maintain such perfect alignment without so much as a jitter anywhere in the grid. Neat idea, but it is mere trickery and witchcraft!
