yeah i’d say 7 dollars really isn’t that much.
What kind of cheap-@$$ R-rated films does this guy watch?
Well, remember that they’re talking PROFIT figures here, so that 7 million is minus the cost to make the movie. Really, it makes a lot of sense, the R rating alone excludes a large chunk of people from seeing the movie. However, I think that these figures are artificially inflated by Pixar’s resounding success over the last few years (though its last movie was PG). All the Disney G movies lately have pretty much tanked, and most of Dreamworks stuff is PG… really, there aren’t many G movies anymore, and I can understand why. I don’t need gallons of blood or language that’d make a sailor blush in my movies, but the G rating is simply TOO limiting.
