I know you are not serious about that headline but i still think i need to clarify that the whole mirror/teleportation thingie has beend done before TNG…Cartoons, books, comics and i even once saw a silent movie where they had a lot of fun with a guy running out one side of the shot, pausing it, and then having him run in the other.
Bah… Scott stating that TNG invented Portal isn’t a statement of fact. It’s just a humorous comment. So go take your historically correctness and have no soup for you!
It is more Pacman than Portal (when Pacman exits the screen to the left or right). In Portal you can choose, where the entrance and the exit of the “worm hole” should be. The portals in “Prey” already were cool (because you could see the correct perspective of the other end through the hole), but even then they were fixed.

Damn. Now I want to go watch that episode? Anybody know which one it was?
Where Silence has Lease.
2nd episode of the 2nd season.
Ahh.. that was a very good episode. One of the first great early episodes that started pulling the series out of the “suck” pond.
I’d really like a Best Of collection of TNG. It has some good episodes, but also some boring ones.
@Brian Duff
I know dude but i still had an itch for writitng the comment
