0th Century Fox has acquired the rights to Electronic Arts’ “Spore” video game to create a CG animated feature.
Chris Wedge, who directed “Ice Age” and “Robots” for the studio, is attached to direct while writers Greg Erb and Jason Oremland are writing the screenplay.
Seems like the game should have sold more copies first, but what do I know. The skinny.

Like the game itself wasn’t bad enough…
Spore, is that game still around?
0th Century? Weren’t they carving movies out of gopherwood then?
That game was such a disappointment.
I love that game.
“Should” and “did” aren’t always in agreement. (I would daresay they disagree more often than not.)
It was fun, but the only replay value was creating new creatures and not actually playing any more. Once played, you’re just left with a creature creator.
What the heck is the plot going to be?
The humble underdog bacterium evolves his way to dominate the galaxy? Mitochondrial hijinks ensue?
Disappointing game = disappointing movie. Have at it, but prepare to lose money on it.
Well the game may not be awsome (the rts type stuff) but I love the building system I spend a lot of time just making creatures and buildings and stuff so I cann see them making a movie with it.
…..Seriously?
As if movies didn’t allready cram to much in to short of a time, now they’re trying all existance?
Expecting heavy suckage.
