Here I am, since early August, a new iPhone owner, loving the app store and the cool ideas people are putting out there for us to use, wondering all the while where my tricorder app is? Come on!! You have to be kidding me? This has to be not only fun to do, but relatively simple. And all the stuff needs to do is support the once fictional touch screen buttons bringing up various bits of fakery.
So I call you out, lone iPhone app developer, to get off your can and get working on the best thing you’ll do all week!

MY friend makes simple apps on the app store, I’ll see what I can do about it.

I had to goggle what a “tricorder” is
Perhaps cos all the Trek fans are Linux boys?
@digisam: I had to Google what an “iPhone” is. It seems to be an inferior knock-off of the HTC Touch smartphone, except locked into a much more expensive contract with the Death Star cell phone company.
There’s a Kirk’s Communicator app for the iphone, but after reading the reviews it seems it’s not worth downloading (or paying for, I believe it was NOT a free app).
I know its only close, but there is this one.

If Apple is still approving apps, then you’ll never see one exactly until the owners of the tricorder designs say it’s okay. Apple won’t risk that. (And since when has Apple actually been interested in what their users want versus what they tell their users to want?)
there is a tricorder app out there, i saw it the other day, aperently its pretty lame, they dont have the acrual sounds, so they made thier own, and the screen only has a couple of interactive bouttons

There is also a Star Trek theme for the iPod Touch/iPhone too. Kinda cool, but… meh.
I sorta love my iPhone. The apps crash WAYYYYYYYY TOO much, though.
