You guys know that the bagel disappeared, right? Gone…nothing…nadda. So, I am taking suggestions of what to do next. Do I give up on the time lapse projects? Or do we follow the adventures of raw meet or a bottle of milk or something?

I like the meat suggestion (or meet as you call it) but i think a raw chicken would be more entertaining.

  2. Anyolina

I also like the raw meat idea. Just make sure its like the bagel and its FAR away from your house, or you’ll end up having unwanted visitors :-/

  3. mercator

Do you think something swiped the bagel? I’d put my money on human intervention, but you never know.

I think a bottle of milk might be interesting, or crack an egg on some plastic wrap, wrap it up and put it on the roof. That way you can see if it slow cooks and have less threat of theft, unless you have crows around…

A little harder to document, since you need to go up a stepladder, but might be interesting. Could invent a new color for all we know!

  4. ximfinity

I think something more interesting to do than time lapse rotting food, its kinda on the lines of watching paint dry or grass grow.

  5. ximfinity

oh and I do like the new site layout very much

  6. SushiNinja

Raw meat IN a bottle of milk. :D

  7. Spellbinder

I would suggest maybe a twinkie as they are supposed to last through a nuke. I too like the layout and the colors used for the new design Scott. Did you wind up getting a new ISP? Or what was the RFO (reason for outage) that you were given if any.

    Thanks for your time, Spell

those are nasty….those will stink like no other. One time a while back we forgot to clean this bowl of catfood for a couple of days…when we found it, it was filled with maggots…twas disgusting.

  9. hermit

meat, but be carefull the cat don’t take it away.

  10. Mark Dell

    Flowers perhaps?

  11. Crimson Fox

I like the idea of a whole chicken.

You’ll need to have it in some sort of see through container so that the animals don’t have their way.

  12. Scott

    Or maybe I do nothing.

  13. BrianD

Yeah.. The food left in containers to watch the mold grow is a kind of tired experiment.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEM0T1Ar5Qo … like watch the grass grow.

how about instead of the destruction of food, bring back the GeekFoods! :-P

  14. ScottyD

Beef would be interesting to see it turn into jerky.

  15. Minamori

I second the Raw meat in the Bottle of milk.

  16. Sokkratez

How about something that’s normally processed and frozen? TV dinner. Just leave it out there, see what happens.

  17. Flabob

Follow the adventures of your teenage daughter in school, see what turns up!

  18. Agent Eggroll

Sokkratez has a great idea, just take a frozen dinner or pie and leave it out. See what chaos occurs. (Hopefully the pie isn’t taken by someone, I mean who doesn’t like pie?)

  19. tyler

a bottle of milk the things that can happen lol

  20. Ringo

Half empty bottle of beer. That’s a fun experiement.

  21. Smitehammer

Find an ant hill and put a small fish near it, then do a time-lapse of it being consumed by a swarm of ants. Hoo yeah.

You should try what some friends and I did back in highschool. We took a waterbottle and throughout the course of a month, kept adding random bits of food to it (cheese, pop, milk, bread, meat, etc.) doesn’t matter what it was, we would throw a small piece of whatever in it. Got to the point though where it was in a friends locker for a month, we came back after a weekend to find rats had knawed their way into the locker and bit a hole in the bottle. His locker smelt BAD for the rest of the year lol.

So ya, bottle of various leftovers should be what you do next.

  24. Barl

Yeah a piece of meat of some sort of liquid would be fun

  25. mercator

    Nothing is good too.

I liked the way Nick and his buddy were making the gross drink.

Let Nick and neighborhood kids decide what to let rot. No one can think of gross and interesting stuff like a group of kids.

    Nick FTW!!!

Also, I think you should post some of Nick’s drawings.

  27. Zebra

  28. Greeken

  35. leafpicker

  36. Gearsmaster

The meat suggestions remind me of the Stinky Meat Project that Thespark.com site did about.. 11 years ago now. It was a classic, I vote for ground beef, some hot dogs, and a chicken breast!

  38. Colin

i smoke…. and i am always curious as to what happens to our cigerette butts that are left over in the grass cause the dissapear… could you test this one for me you don’t have to smoke it just tape one down to your back yard some where.

  39. Bearbutt

“I vote for ground beef, some hot dogs, and a chicken breast!”

Well, be sure to include two breasts… so as not to offend the chicken.

  40. Aroinak

Try the Meat. But when you post that you’re trying it, spell it right. =) It’s a good idea.

  41. Dan

Drop something metal in some coke. Always wanted to see if that “A nail will dissolve if left in soda” was true or not.

  42. puppy

    used car!!! hydrocloric acid!!!

get some clear lacquer and at night (so it can dry) take a $20 bill and make it part of the sidewalk in front of your house. See how long it takes for someone to pry it off the cement.

or find one of those big stop signs that are 10 feet tall and bring a footstool and perma- paste the $$ to the back just out of reach. See how long it stays there,
