At least according to RottenTomatoes. I will definitely be there to see it. Unlike anyone I know 20 or younger, I personally think the Simpsons has been consistently one of the best written and funniest comedies on TV ever. The fact that the film seems to be getting strong buzz makes me happy. ![]()

I am going to see it tonight at 8pm in the great Cinemark of American Fork. It should be a lot of fun. 87 minutes of the simpsons, how can you go wrong with that?
hmmm…watch for me, D. Might be there.
I’m going this weekend to see it with my cousin for her birthday. I can’t wait. It’s going to be fun.
I love the simpsons, i practically grew up watching them. But I think they have gotten way too political nowadays, I think the old episodes are way better and funnier, tho the new ones have their thing ^^
4/5 stars in my local swedish newspaper this morning, can’t wait to see it!
Saw it yesterday. I thought it was pretty good, although the trailers really show almost all the best jokes imo.
Watching the film in 45 Minz or so… want waiiiiiiiiiiiiit looks awesome, SPIDER PIG FTW!
I saw it yesterday laughed once every 5 min atleast
I am so upset! The Simpsons have been aired in Portugal for years, subbed since the beginning.
Now that the movie came out, there’s a Portuguese dubbed version.
That being bad, the dubbing is a piece of crap, what makes it even worst.
I saw the movie last night… midnight screening … and I got to say that the movie fills my expectations. It’s a good and fun movie
and yeah … spider pig ftw!!
I’m under and 20 and love it!
And I prefer new episodes… as I watched every cartoon in series 1-7 about 5 times I’ll still watch ‘em now, but I prefer new episodes obviously!
Hoping to go see it next week!
I saw it last nite at Midnight. The place was packed and everyone had a great time. The move was better then I expected. Everyone must see it
i just saw it, and i must say, its great, only thing i miss is a contingiency (sorry for bad spelling) in the jokes. A bit much oneliners, great oneliners all the time and great storry. A deffinete 5 on my die.
Just saw it… was awesome… did any of you wait right until after all the credits finished? Maggie said something which was rather cryptic!!!
I agree that they put far to many of the best jokes in the trailer.
All in all my friends and I loved it, a great film to see if you just want some quick laughs and some great simpsons action.
Comic book guy reminds me of Brian!
I just saw it, and let me just say that all the best jokes were NOT in the trailers. There was a lot of really good material I saw for the first time tonight. Overall, I loved it. Can’t wait for the DVD…
Just saw it. What I liked about it (other than making me laugh my azz off) Was that a show I have watched for years and laughed privately (sometimes with a few other people). I was able to sit in a packed theater and laugh with 200 + people who “get it”. That made the movie for me.
I’ve been a HUGE simpsons fan and remember way back when it first started as part of the Tracy Ulman show! I saw the movie today…I enjoyed it, and thought a majority of it was funny, but not enough to make me feel it would be better than a 7 out of 10. I’m a bad reviewer because I absolutely hate movies, and towards the end I was getting a little anxious to move around again. But I did stay and watch through the whole credits, because I had a feeling they would be poppin stuff up every once in a while.
Overall, a good movie with some very funny moments, but I laughed harder at Family Guy’s “Life of Stewey” or whatever that DVD movie was. I might see it once more in the theater just to make sure I really caught everything, especially since I was probably half-asleep because I woke up an hour before the movie started.
I saw it in wednesday (our cinema is weird, it shows all new movies on wednesdays).
The movie is teh ROXXORZ! It’s really a great movie! I walked into the theatre with the presumption to get disappointed. I wasn’t! One laugh at least every 20 seconds, throughout the whole movie. It even gets very emotional. The Movie Score is great, too (Hans Zimmer!)
One of the best movies I have seen in a while.
Just saw it.
Bahahahahahaha.
Can’t get the spiderpig theme song out of my head….
I liked it. Pretty funny stuff. Lols for full frontal nudity!
I thought the film was funny and I’d give it about an 8/10. Though I feel it’s worthy of noting that I don’t see why anybody thinks Spider-Pig is funny. In fact, seeing it in the trailer would have led me to believe the film wouldn’t be any good. :s
Something I don’t like about the new seasons is Homer always crying and Flanders being turned into an ultra conservative rather than a good willed Christian.
Worst. Iraq deployment. EVER.
At least I got to see Transformers on my birthday (the 14th); The Simpsons should be available in a week or two. Thank goodness for Iraqi bootleg DVDs.
“one of the best written and funniest comedies on TV ever”
Well, I gotta tell ya, as a hardcore Simpsons fan, the quality of the show has decreased significantly as of late. The first episodes are trully marvellous, peeking at season 4 or 5 in my opinion. Through out 6-11 or so, the show has had good quality, but after that… it’s all lame-ass jokes like the hammer joke from the movie’s trailer. I seriously hope the movie isn’t all like that.
Watched it today.. very good.
