The channel will air the episodes in their intended order, beginning with Whedon’s pilot. (Fox, by contrast, began with the show’s third produced hour, “The Train Job,” and aired the two-hour pilot at the end of the show’s abortive first season.) SCI FI acquired exclusive rights to the show from 20th Century Television, which produced the show for the Fox Broadcasting Co.
This is great news!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
I never watched the show AT ALL, when it was on TV. Once it hit the DVD Boxset on a whim I bought it and LOOOOVED the show. I am very much looking forward to the movie and the possibility of a NEW season.
Now if I could some how get Sci-Fi to bring back Farscape I would be in heaven. At least Battlestar Galacticas new season begins soon.
Its kinda amusing to me that now SCI FI picks it up. I followed the show while it was on air originally and paid attention to the stuff that went down after it was canceled. I know SCI FI was contacted about picking up the show and they turned it down at that time.
Last I heard, Firefly wouldn’t go back to TV again (that was awhile ago after the Movie deal was announced and things do change). I’d love to see this as a series again – i thought the show rocked!
YYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BOUT FRIGGIN TIME!!!!!!!!!!!
THERE IS A GOD!!!
