It will precede that film, in which the crew of a commercial towing ship returning to Earth is awakened and sent to respond to a distress signal from a nearby planetoid. The crew discovers too late that the signal generated by an empty ship was meant to warn them.
This can only be a good thing. Check it!

Ridley Scott is the man! It would be very cool if they’d use more of the original art of H.R.Giger for the creatures and ship(s).
Very slight correction, one with a single letter.
Ridley Scott is working on a prequel to “Alien”, not “Aliens”.
As the prequel to “Aliens” was, well, er, “Alien”.
Hehe.
So… an update to the original movie concept? As long as it works better than it did when they tried Aliens 3.
Or whatever happened in Aliens Resurrection… *shudder*
Today’s crowd does not have the imagination to handle Scott’s directing if he does it the same way as Alien. Alien did more by showing less and letting people scare themselves. That’s the right way to do it since nothing we see can match our imaginations (if we have them), but kids these days just wanna be told to be scared of some CGI pixels. Lazy kids.
Oh, thank blessed Christmas!
Split the Alien and Predator franchises back up again. It is the _only_ way to return them to any shred of decency. Those who were tickled by the appearance of the Alien skull in Predator 2 got their fanservice, and a second dose. That’s it. All we need, thanks. Now turn those vicious xenomorphic monsters back into what they were . . . something to carve a swath through hapless humans in true horror fashion, instead of just duking it out with each other like some kind of horrific version of Rock-Em-Sock-Em Robots.
(Although, come to think of it . . . I would buy that.)
But, but, I bought the Alien Quadrilogy box set! Now I gotta buy another box set? o.o
I cannot wait for this – it will be so exciting!
eh, I’m holding out for the next one made by Meta Ridley Scott…
