This attack is a variation of a Dim Mak technique. The only attack that had anything to do with him “passing out” was the slap to the neck.
[The Real Move] Take the area (under your pinkie) of your right palm and place it in your opponents neck(right side), along the artery. A strike to this area will cause him to become light headed and most likely stumble. This will buy you about 3 seconds to make your get-away.
Gaudemaus was correct as to why this happens.
[WARNING] THIS MOVE CAN KILL.
If you apply to much pressure with the attack (more than 6 lbs) you may not be able to wake them up. So don’t “practice” it more needed to learn the technique.
All of his other attacks were for show. You don’t really “need” them but they serve some (little) purpose.
Yeah yeah, I studied all kinds of Martial Arts for, about… 20 years now I guess. Not really counting. My main art is Ninjitsu but I study all forms so I can incorporate their techniques into the fold.
What do you learn from this? Protect your neck I guess.
I was just gonna say “fake”, but since Rico posted here I’m gonna say it’s real – the guy on the left is an android, and the guy on the right simply turned him off.
We all find solutions, but just as you, we forget them during the sleep process. But i have funnier and weirder dreams when im not stressed opposed to the work related dreams i have when im stressed.
Yes and no. It is possible to make someone passout by hitting the sides of their throat but not that fast.
If you bruise the sides of a persons throat you could create a “blood choke” making the person black out from disrupted blood flow to the brain that would take about 20 seconds. However I am sorry for all those star trek fans out there when I say there is not any “vulcan pinch” instant pass-out move not involving a baseball bat to the head
Wow. Soooo many Masters of all forms of Martial Arts are found in here. Impressive. Or better more fakes then real ones I suppose? You want someone to pass out, not able to hit you? Hit him really hard with a blunt weapon on the head. But don’t forget that both, the one with both hands and the one with the blunt weapon let you strike first. In most cases you are the looser when you are being judged, so dont stand around and RUN after you hit the guy. Same thing goes for killing. For the ones who still doesn’t understand: You know the Indiana Jones Mobie where someone is making a hell of artistic swordfighting in front of Indiana? And he pulls out his pistol and shoots the guy in a blink? Yeah right same goes for the fool without any fighting skills against the blackbelt. Bye bye and good morning blackbelt in the hospital (if you are lucky) or the graveyard (if you are unlucky).
Better watch out that you don’t get into any fight.
When you go unconscious your legs immediately buckle, your arms go limp and you would fall forward. Anyone with experience, would know that this didn’t really happen. If this happens… then why doesn’t the UFC guys do this? http://www.bullshido.com/ Get a clue guys.
Freaky, just FYI, just because one is braindead doesnt mean the body follows right away. The term “vegetable” would apply here.
The neck is also one of the thickest places on the body in relation to the location of the nervous and circulatory system. It would take a lot of pressure to hit any major nerve to cause a pinch, and for the carotid choke to work you’d have to apply pressure for way more that 0.02 of a second.
What he did (if it was real) was to overload the brain with simultaneous pain signals, nothing like a choker hold. The brain has a failsafe to prevent nerves from burning themselves out from activity – that is to go unconscious for a time.
Basically what a pressure point is is where a relatively major nerve is near the surface of the skin, such as along the inside of one’s knee or elbow. It is easy to hit those spots with enough pressure to cause bloackout because you don’t have to strike through so much meat as well.
Easiest ways to take someone out unarmed are the solar plexus, the eyes, and the throat. It wont disable them too long, but it’ll be enough time to either deliver a stronger blow or to escape.
Yes, it is very much possiblle. The instance you are seeing here is when the instructor is putting sudden pressure on both valves of the neck, there by causing a sudden laps in blood flow and cutting of instructions from the brain to the body, causing an temporary sort of paralysis. Hard to get right though, and to much force can kill a person easily.
Look, I’ve studied the martial arts for over 20 years, I’ve studied karate, jujitsu, judo, aikido and kung fu.
Are there pressure points? Yes.
Does this video demonstrate how they are used? No.
As I originally said and as has been said by a few people here this is an example of a lack of control. It is never safe to strike the neck at the corotid artery. As I said there are headlock/choking techniques which apply steady pressure to these two arteries and these techniques can render someone unconscious – but not instantaneously.
Those techniques work because they interupt the bloodflow to the brain, which is ALWAYS a dangerous thing because if it’s done for too long it can cause brain damage or death. That’s why the police are forbidden from using it. It’s too easy to screw up.
This guy is reckless and has no business instructing anyone, that’s if he even is an instructor.
Don’t try this yourself, and don’t listen to anyone telling you this is real. These days anyone can open a school, wear a fancy outfit and get accreditted wwith some organization – or even start their own.
Pressure points are used for submission holds, or to break holds on yourself, or to strike at weak areas. You want to find a real pressure point? Take your thumb and lodge it just underneath your earlobe where it meets the jaw. There’s a socket there…dig in slowly, you can feel what would happen if someone applied pressure. That’s a pressure point. Leave the arteries for another day, it’s far too easy to hurt yourself or someone else by accident.
I’ve seen demonstrations of these kinds of knockouts by Ruy Kuy Kempo Karate instructors, though other martial arts teach similar techniques – they warned it was still a dangerous technique because it disrupts the energy flow in the body, so they wouldn’t knock me out with it )-: disappointing, that.
Greetings all.i have been a student of Ryukyu Kempo for aprox 9 years.yes,if the person was struck on point known as stomach 9 on both sides it is very dangerous indeed!Receptors that monitor the blood pressure induce signal to shut down brain and protect heart.basic rule. only indicate this!Bad ju ju to do for fame and fortune.also looks like he clipped meeting of 3 yins on leg.thats spleen 6 .thats the set up.the theory is based on traditional chinese medicine. Kyusho Juitsu.pardon any miss spelling.good night.train hard.be kind.
Not buying it all. The pressure isn’t applied nearly long enough. Your brain just doesn’t click off like that.

I usually find a swift kick in the nads works for me

I saw Spock do this with one hand!
I did karate for a majority of my life and it happend to me once i did it once
Heh. Again, too many Ralph Maccio movies for you folks, I guess.
If he fell down because he was in pain, fine. Then he didn’t pass out. If the video is depicting him losing consciousness, then, no.
I guess we need to decide if he’s losing consciousness. I’ve stubbed my fricken toe and hit the floor.
You just can’t fool physiology.
