For those that don’t want the expense of an iPod dock, fear not. As a crafty iPod lover has come to your rescue. All you need is a small cardboard box, some tape and the original USB wire that comes with your iPod.
Here’s one I prepared earlier.

Is there a way to make the speakers play out of the docked Ipod like they do for the Ipod Stereo Dock?
Very funny.. can’t see any reason to buy a basic dock myself, for that exact reason. My dad has one that hooks up to his amplifier and has a remote sensor and suchlike, so he can control it from his pronto (over the top universal remote thing). It also does what a normal dock will do on top of it.. very nifty thing, he may as well throw his CD player out imho
