Brilliant =D He pretty much deserved that.

2. Sebastiaan

ROFL that is funny.. perhaps a bit staged maybe ? ;)

3. flmumb

Erm… i dunno but that looks pretty fake to me… but if its not that guy definitely deserved it.

4. NetWrkGamr

Just goes to show you, fancy footwork dose not mean anything!!

5. CDRaff

Real or fake that was awesome.

I have a few friends in the fighting business, living about 30 mins from Greg Jackson(If you know MMA you know who that is) and I also have a friend who plays one of the nobodies who always loses in WWE, and by far the guy who works for WWE is more hard core. He is bigger tougher and has way more stamina.

So I am saying if this was fake it was probably harder to do.

6. Druidboy20

That clip is from the movie “Never Back Down”. Just came out on DVD like a month ago. Saw it in the theater and it was a great movie for MMA lovers. Here is a link to the trailer: http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809912205/trailer

7. silvadream

not the best video ever

8. Andrew

Yeah like Druidboy20 said this is from ‘Never Back Down’, if like me you grew up in the 80’s then this movie will probably remind you a lot of The Karate Kid. The movie even has a training montage set to music :)

9. Telythugy

That is the funniest thing I have seen in a LLLLOOOONNNNGGGGG time.

10. Albert

it looked he was doing some of the troll dance at the begining

11. Turtlepants

@ CDRaff
Greg Jackson! Ahh, that’s awesome.

And really, that was so amazingly fake XD

12. Kal Skirata

Who saw that coming????

13. DoggySpew

First rule of fight club, don’t talk aSPLFFF….. * Get’s KOed*

14. Andrew

Its from the movie “Never Back Down” looks like it was shot by one of the extras, its a good movie though…

15. Michael

yeah. definitely from Never Back Down.

16. Doctorsoul

Reminds me of a classic Indiana Jones moment… the one where Indy shoots the Cairo Swordsman.

17. CJMack

I was half expecting him to use the crane technique from Karate Kid…

18. WyvernWulf

“You’re the best around! No one’s ever gonna keep you down!”

19. Lifeisaglitch

See people this is why Batman would beat Spiderma in a fight!!!

20. Paper Effigy

Ehehe.

21. GoatTuber

Sweep the leg!

22. Archarzel

Yeah, that clip was intentionally put out as hype for Never Back Down. I’m more entertained by the viral circles that these kind of things make, i have heard about this clip like 20 times in the past week, and, kid you not, mostly from the same people that mentioned it to me about 6 months ago when it first started spinning the intrawebs…

I recommend the movie to anyone looking for a good teen/action beat’em’up flick. not too much of a deep plot so your gray matter wont get a workout, but you’ll want to go pick a fight with someone when your done with it.

for that matter, I’m gonna go watch Tokyo drift again and go for a drive…

23. ScottyD

Now I kind of want to see that movie.

24. BrianD

On a weekend if I’m bored and the movie shows up on HBO or something, I’ll watch it. Dunno if I’d wanna pay $5 to rent that thing.

But as for the video, meh. All that buildup for nothing. Kind of like someone inflating a baloon, only to have it slip from their hands and flies off.

25. Techgeekgirl

See, this is the reason I always hated Eddie Gordo. It just looks ridiculous to run around like that in a fight.

26. Bearbutt

Predictable in the extreme.

27. Energyone

Predictable and yet no less entertaining. Capoeira vs Street Fighting of some kind.

28. Faisca

That clip, as has been said, is from a movie. It’s not real.

The guy is doing capoeira, a Brazilian martial art. Yes, it’s the “troll dance” and the style of Eddie Gordo.

The thing is, people love to talk all this nonsense about how capoeira is useless in a real fight (because it’s an art form that combines fighting, dancing, gymnastics, and music), and they use stuff like this as an example. But this is ridiculous. That’s not how any true capoeirista would actually put it to use; that’s just plain dumb.

I’m sure the movie producers just wanted some flashy stuff and a reason for people to go “OOOOHHH!!!” like everyone here is doing.

I just had to put my two cents in here because I’m an EL fan and I’m also a capoeirista. If you want to find out more about capoeira, check out my blog.

29. NeuroMan42

ROFLMAO!

30. Bearbutt

I was gonna add that it was entertaining even though predictable.

31. Benjamin

Lawl, show off gets knocked out.

32. E

This is soooo good. I have stumbled across this thing countless times and I smile every time. I don’t care if it is fake, predictable and unrealistic. I just like to see a show-off getting punched in the face :)

Dance little man, dance!

35. Monkeybone

This is the canceled Sega CD port of Ring Kings.

36. Kane

Funny but obviously made up.

37. DB

it’s a bad day for capoeira :(

38. thom

i just saw never back down last week. that part made me giggle.

39. Deacon

Sorry, Faisca, but while capoeira is a very entertaining style that’s very fun to watch and quite a work-out, put it in a ring–even against stand-up only like most K1 fights–and it falls to more practical, effective styles such as Muay Thai (which is also fun to watch when done right), kickboxing, etc. In a legitimate MMA match, if all you’re bringing to the table is capoeira, I don’t care if you’re a freaking contemporânea mix master, you’re only chance is the always-present puncher’s chance.

“In a legitimate MMA match, if all you’re bringing to the table is capoeira, I don’t care if you’re a freaking contemporânea mix master, you’re only chance is the always-present puncher’s chance.”

Deacon, I wholeheartedly agree with you. If you go to an MMA match expecting to win and all you know is capoeira, you’re gonna get your ass kicked. And, if you go in showing off like this jackass, and doing a bunch of flips all over the place, you’re also going to get your ass kicked. And you deserve it.

I have seen some good capoeira MMA fighters, but they’ve all incorporated capoeira in with other styles. If you take what capoeira teaches you (how to be fluid, smooth, aware of your surroundings at all times, etc) and mix it in with more practical styles, you’ll be good.

The thing that everyone forgets (or just doesn’t realize) is that capoeira isn’t meant to be “THE BEST PRACTICAL FIGHTING STYLE IN THE WORLD THAT CAN DESTROY ALL OTHERS!”

Capoeira, at its heart, is an art form. It’s a dance, it’s a fight, it’s a game. Most people don’t practice capoeira so they can go out and win MMA fights.

People think you can’t use capoeira as self defense because when they think of capoeira all they think of is backflips, cartwheels, and handstand kicks. But clearly, no one in their right mind is gonna start doing cartwheels around when they get into a street fight.

Capoeira isn’t about destroying your opponent. If you want to learn how to kill people, take Krav Maga.

41. JaFO

That probably applies to (almost) any martial art as well … whether it is something ’simple’ like boxing or something as complex/technical as Capoeira.

It never looks anything like the movies once people are trying to hurt each other for real.

btw : did anyone see Nation Geographics-series “Fight Science” ?
In a recent episode they showed the amount of potential damage an MMA-style fighter could do to a human by letting them hit a test-dummy.

42. Max West

Funny clip. It’s from Never Back Down though.

It’s basically a modern karate kid.

Terrible movie imo, but I will admit..the fighting was cool.

I’m a Brazilian JiuJitsu fighter myself :)

43. PurrNaK

It’s staged. Yes it’s from the movie, but if you ever go to vegas you’ll see them set up the fake dance twisty fight thing to african drums. 2 guys battle out never touching eachother but doing all the fancy footwork.

Sort of reminds me of that pop n lock vid you posted a couple days back.

44. Brad

If I may borrow the expression…”PWND!!!”
