Optimus Keyboard

Does everyone remember the Optimus Keyboard? It first appeared a few years ago, instantly wowing everyone with its very unique feature. Well back in February the team behind Optimus Keyboard, Art Lebedev Studio, began taking preorders for a smaller, 3 key version of the keyboard known as the Optimus Mini. With a then slated July shipping date, it’s only now the Optimus Mini has finally started to arrive at peoples doors, and a member of the Hard|Forum message boards has gone ahead and documented the unboxing ritual.

Did anyone hear bother ordering one all those months ago? Or is everyone waiting for the fully fledged keyboard said to be hitting store shelves at the end of the year?

Yep… The full Optimus keyboard will be pretty sweet. I want one for sure. Just hope it’s not too expensive (no more than 150$). It’s a true revolution in Keyboards. After this, we should all change to gesture recognition

I have no idea what “hear bother” means, but it seems that nobody HERE bothered to order it back then.

“Just hope it’s not too expensive (no more than 150$)”

I think that’s about what they were charging for the 3 key one, so don’t cross your fingers…

The full keyboard would be the bomb. I like the idea of it being able to light up key commands for what ever game you are playing, I think that’s brilliant.

160 USD for 3 keys? What the hell? does that mean a standard 103-key keyboard will be at the range of 4000 USD?

Nice gimmick but I really don’t think it is worth the money.

It’s more than meets the eye.

It seems like, with the right programming, you could use this to give your computer a DS-like second screen. Wouldnt it be nice to have the map in WoW constantly being displayed under your keys.
