    I LOVE Ted.
McCloud’s book that he talked about writing in ’93 is also amazing. Nice insight to how people view images in general.

If you all haven’t seen some Ted talks, I guarantee you will find some that interest the hell out of you. Then you’ll be hooked.

    Critical thinking FTW.

The DeGray and Kurzweil (sp?) talks are some of my faves.

Thanks Scott very interesting, I have an even higher respect for comic artists now.
I think the best talks I have ever seen are the TED talks. I don’t see why they aren’t covered more.

I love Scott McCloud’s book Understanding Comics, and this TED talk makes his points about the “invisible art” even clearer. Thanks for pointing to this video. I truly enjoyed watching it.

    Very interesting talk.

The final concept seemed more of a chose our own adventure novel.
It may very well be why role playing games are making such an impact.

While it was a good talk, there are some INCREDIBLE speeches on Ted. This was about comic books. While we all love comic books, I have to argue against this being one of the best TED talks.

Damn that was rich, never thought bout comic books as of science, but here it is! wish i could present my thing like that (i’m giving lectures on english culture and language)

When he spoke of the evolving narrative form twoard the end, and the way future audiences will experience story telling and view comics and such… I had to think of WoW and the way MMO’s present stories that are fully immersive. It makes me wonder if, in the future, we will watch Batman through the eyes of Robin, Superman by way of Jimmy Olsen…. (that and I keep wanting to adjust my viewpoint on static pictures :)

@#Land_Knight: Interesting thought. I could see having different versions of a movie that you see from the POV of the characters. Can you imagine Dark Knight from the view of the Joker, Rachel, Lucius Fox, Or Harvey Dent? Wow.

The webcomics “FANS” and 1/0 alter the medium. FANS at times experiments with backgrounds, and has incorporated guest comics of vastly different styles in the main storyline. 1/0 takes the very notion of a webcomic that breaks the fourth wall, and examines it metafictionally, ethically, and symbologically. (Both have excellent storylines as well.)
