Hoping to enlist new members into the his Army, KISS bassist Gene Simmons is looking to jump on the guitar peripheral bandwagon. The wireless Gene Simmons AXE Guitar is coming November 15 for $80 and will be compatible with PlayStattion 3 and PS2 versions of Guitar Hero and Rock Band games using a packaged dongle (pictured, not to scale). The peripheral will be a 3/4th size replica and is currently available for pre-order.

Gene Simmons was just on Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader… despite appearing as one whose brain has been turned to mush by decades of substance abuse, he made it all the way to the million dollar question. Also, he speaks 4 languages. Impressive.

Does this PS2/PS3 dongle mean you can now use that guitar to play Guitar hero 1,2 and 80′s on your PS3? (assuming you have the backwards compat. package) Because.. if so.. that would be a REALLY good reason for buying one of those suckers

imo, it would be a thousand times better without the gene simmons face on it. Just a old fashioned kick ass axe guitar.
