Yup. There was a discussion about what makes a successful viral ad and this was used as an example, contrasted to the Australian ad that was portrayed as “real” regarding a lost jacket (received poorly there).

  2. Jonah

I hadn’t seen this one before. It was really well done. The kind of viral video you actually want to pass on to your friends.

  3. Bearbutt

    Cheesy. But nice.

Wait, was Dr. Manhattan ever part of the Watchmen? I’m pretty sure the US superweapon wasn’t just walking the streets at night beating up petty criminals….

  5. Jill

    Yup, he was.

  6. FluffyPanda

Hmmm… I’ve just thumbed through my Ultimate Watchmen and I didn’t find a reference to him as a Watchman, but then it’s not really a formal team.

It did remind me how much I’d forgotten from the story. I think I’ll have to re-read it now.

I thought that in the comic he was supposed to be in that “Crime Busters” thingy that Captain Metropolis tried to start, but never really worked out properly. I guess they might change that for the film, or maybe the idea is that the government/media wants to portray them as being a more cohesive group than they really were?

  8. Falcon

He was, but not in the sense of walking the streets catching thugs. His ties to the Comedian and Laurie are why mostly though. Because the Watcmen was only an unofficial title used mostly by the public (and not the heroes hemselves) he was certainly a part of that.

The more I see of it, the less interested I am… but Transformers 2 looks sweet! XD

I know the underwear-over-outerwear thing is a common fashion statement in superhero land, but is there really any need for banana hammocks?

1:44 is kinda disturbing indeed XD
