Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was originally set to launch with Wii, but the year-long delay has been very much worth the wait. Call it a first- person shooter or a first-person adventure — doesn’t matter. I call it the best game on Nintendo’s console. It is clear from the moment you pick up the controller that Prime 3 was developed exclusively for Wii. Not only do the new controls respond quicker and with more precision than any dual-analog-helmed FPS ever created, but the gesture system works brilliantly, too. Meanwhile, the title delivers everything a Metroid fan could hope for, including spectacular environmental puzzles, epic boss fights and intense combat, all wrapped up in a package that spans multiple worlds and is filled with re-traversal exploration. A cinematic storyline made possible by beautiful art and graphics rounds out the experience, which is complemented by a medal system and WiiConnect24 compatibility.

Bladity blab blerb.
Reviewers suck.
Do Want
must have…will get…play day gay!
I am really looking forward to this – BUT – I REALLY wish someone would introduce a genuine “mouse-like” control scheme (see Gyration’s mouse). The Wii controls are more than capable of it.
Since I can’t post anything under comments (good or bad) without the Wii fanboys coming out of the woodwork and yelling at me, I am just going to say that I am aware this game got a good review, and I anticipated it. You can stop e-mailing me death threats, ok?
wha?? who is bugging you? Say whatever you want in here. I won’t stop you or censor you for that.
Glad to see Wii finally getting some games aimed at the hardcore audience, may pick a Wii up now
I’m looking forward to my PS3 games more though…Warhawk…DiRT…Heavenly Sword…Ratchet…Haze…Uncharted….Unreal…LittleBigPlanet…Home…PES 2008…Assassins Creed…WipEout HD…SOCOM…Everyday Shooter…PAIN…GT5 Prologue…most of them I’m not gonna play anywhere else.
Futures bright. Futures PS3.
Not sure about it though. Metroid never really appealed to me. good to see that is has some good reviews.
The new UT is looking really good on the PS3 to be sure.
Why the crap wont my comments work!? What’s'a going’a on’a!?
looking good would be an understatement … I just hope it plays just as good as it looks.
I am looking forward to playing a ‘real’ fps on the Wii, because the lightgun mini-games really felt good in Raymans’ raving Rabids
It’s either this or Red Steel. tough choice
havent really played Metroid but like so many things in recent times i follow scotts judgements and love new things! so im excited to get this
Metroid was a series I always wanted to like, but I never got into the games on the GC.
Judging from the reviews 3 looks like one I should pick up thu.
Or pick up after my friends spend there money on it.
i sent scott this link…im pretty sure i did
I’m playing this game, and it is fun. If you know anything about FPS games, though, I recommend going on hard mode. Normal is way too easy, so far (I’m only about 2 hours in though. Damn you WoW).
I’m gonna wait on this one. I was ready to buy it tomorrow until they pulled multiplayer… I still want to play the game, but now I’m going to wait until I beat Prime.
I never heard of them planning to add multiplayer…how can you pull something you never put in?
Besides, this is similar to Bioshock in the fact that it is a one player game. That’s the point of it. There’s a few dozen multiplayer FPS games out there. If you want multiplayer, go play one of them.
Interesting that you’re comparing these scores from IGN. You know, since IGN’s been known for years to surrender their scores according to hype and few things else. Past reviewers have even told several sources that it was part of their job requirements, as well as totals have been compared, coming to the conclusion that IGN tends to fuck up in their reviews.
Just saying what I’ve heard in articles, that’s all. I wouldn’t trust their scores much.
My next statement will be blasphemy: I did not like the Prime series on GameCube and DS. I thought the game required a lot of tweaking to be “playable” for my likings.
This iteration of the series rocks. I know I’ll be playing this game for a long time. Finally some good stuff for the Wii. My Wii needs some more lovin’… there just ain’t enough good games out. Metroid Prime 3 is going to help my Wii get some attention

Just saying that I wouldn’t trust GameSpot’s score more. Jeff Gerstmann stated in an interview that the GameSpot staff in general doesn’t like the Wii. Review Scores should not be taken like it’s the ultimate truth. They are based on the opinions of the person(s) that reviewed the game. If you don’t know if a game is good or not, you should read multiple reviews from different sites. Not just one.
Regardless, after playing Metroid Prime 3: Corruption for 5 hours, I really thing IGN’s review and video review is spot-on.
