I love stuff like this. It would see their are some fans of Lost over at Valve. Check out this screen, this screen, and this video. Thanks, Andrew!

their = there.

Easter Eggs like this are fun. But they are extremely obscure. Only if you were REALLY into Lost and explore every nanometer of Episode 2 as you’re playing, would you figure these things out. When I saw the gnome I was thinking of the Travelocity gnome. (Of course you can use a 110volt in Europes’ 220voltage outlets! “AHH!! Am I going to die?”)
While the latter references are obvious, the first one is not necessarily a likeness to Dharma’s logo.

Awesome, now i am defiantly going out to the the “Orange Box”.

Heh. Sokkratez had found the number sequence his first run through and had to google it to find out what it was.
Us slappie bappie chappies in the UK have to wait until this coming Friday (19th) to pick up our copy of the Orange Box. Dang and balst it… i wanna play it NOW!!
Anyway… any of you remember the Sayid flashback (‘The Greater Good’) where two of his friends were playing Halflife in the background?
Another Half-Life reference, in Series 1… in the episode ‘White Rabbit’, Jack’s dad appears mysteriously wearing a suit and holding a briefcase. This bears a striking similarity to the appearances of G-man.
For those that think that the symbol in the pic doesn’t look like the Dharma symbol you are right! The centre symbol is for a base called ‘White Forest’ in the game, which is where the ‘good guys’ house their research facilities and missile silos.
Just found a nice pic of the LOST eggs here:

Yes, the middle logo has been changed, but the surrounding lines looks pretty similar to the logo in LOST.
“Yes, the middle logo has been changed, but the surrounding lines looks pretty similar to the logo in LOST.”
Yes but the Lost symbol is just a copy of the bagua.
I’m not sure why all 8 I Ching symbols must mean it’s from Lost. I Ching has been around a lot longer than that (WAY longer).
There are 8 symbols, so… how else do you arrange them if you want to display the whole set? They are simply showing the standard I Ching logo around another logo. That’s been done LOTS of time already.
Now if it was a specific I Ching hexagram (with 6 selected symbols in a specific order) in both Lost and Ep2, then that would be different.
Eric were you dropped as a kid obviusly its a lost reference since its not important to the HL story and the numbers are in the game to… Its not like somebody is saying oh its a Nejii reference ….
(oh forgot smiley buffing)
I’d say it’s clearly a Lost reference because of the end of that video, where the creators say they put lost references in as a promise to the show’s creators.
Would this make more sense if I spent my free time destroying my brain cells with broadcast TV? And if so, WHY would anyone do that?
