Somewhere I heard that fans were trying to make a Starcraft mod for Warcraft III, but that was a while back.
The days of Starcraft and Diablo are long-past in my view. They’ve been cloned too many times, and the IP’s are simply too uninteresting anymore.
Try telling that to South Korea.

It might be slightly sad, but I’ve been waiting for SC2 remotely for the last 10 years …
Not that I refresh the blizzard and battle.net website every 45 seconds hoping to see the announcement or anything … No … I wouldn’t do that … I cut back to 50 two months ago!
I know I’m eager for StarCraft 2, WarCraft IV, and Diablo III. I doubt another WarCraft RTS will come out; however, a second StarCraft seems like a good possibility.

I can only HOPE that it’s old. It looks like WC3… and that’s OLD.
I actually liked the sprites, clunky 3D models don’t do the characters justice. But I hope they prove me wrong if they really are making SC2.
The zerg design in that is horrible for an RTS, but the protoss are sharp. At least that side is a good insight into what SC2 could look like.
Obviously as has been said it was done as fan art.
But who uses tri polys anymore? Also a strange mix of tri’s and quads. Texturing must have been a bitch.
