Had no idea this was being worked on, but it seems pretty cool to me. Thoughts on this new look and feel? Honestly, it’s probably enough to get me interested in playing. Been probably a couple of years since I played Monopoly, and changes like this sort of get me a little excited. Then there is that old man Johnson in me yelling, “get off my lawn” as well.

My friends got the new card game Monopoly Deal. Really fun, really fast paced, but still has the Monopoly ‘feel’ to it. I’d play that over this….thing.
Eh Monopoly is still a damned grind of a game, if you’ve got a board game itch, grab you some Settlers of Catan or Ticket To Ride
It looks interesting. I also belive that some of the very early Monopoly boards were also circular.
I think I’ll pass. I can’t see the fun in a game where you are basically a spectator. The actual choices you get to make are never hard ones and everything else is just up to chance. No Jason got the right idea. Ticket to Ride, Settlers or even Carcassone are much better boardgames not to name a thousand others.
Hmm, that looks like something came out of “2001 – A Space Odyssey”. Or some other, cant recall, space, future, movie.

Looks like a cool update, just that it’s not as space saving as the original board that you could just fold up and have the pieces in their bags anymore.
If I’ve read this correctly, it needs batteries to make all those bank transitions with the thingy in the middle.

We talked about this game on the podcast and I just don’t like it. I’m not a huge Monopoly fan in the first place and this does not seem right. How are you going to steal money from the till now?
Id give it a shot. But ever since i got monopoly on the Wii (No clean up FTW!) i don’t know if i would play this more than once.
The whole point of Monopoly is to teach the young about money and making change and controling their money. it’s also about honesty and thinking ahead while saving money to get what you really want.
This lowers all the education in the game to “oh push buttons learn to spend like crazy with my bank card.” Sigh.
There was a flash version of monopoly popular a while back . Mogle or something. That was a lot like this.
Meh. I don’t mind inflation and updates and all that, but no paper money means no stocking Free Parking, no stealing from the bank, no hiding a stash. What fun is Monopoly without cheating?
What happens if the batteries die midgame? Does the Federal government come in and bail everyone out?
