lol @ eric. love the vid, but I wish they hadn’t used saving private ryan at the end. Yeah, yeah, I’m a stick in the mud. Just ends on a down note for me. Somebody needs to do more of these.
There are currently two versions of The Thing (with a third on the way that some unknown people are making). They are based on a short story by John W. Cambell, Jr. called “Who Goes There?”. In the first The Thing (originally, The Thing from Another World), it as a plant a la Body Snatchers, but it only becomes humanoid. In the second The Thing (now, John Carpenter’s The Thing), it is much more versatile (as seen in the clip). I have no idea what Heijningen’s gonna do with it. He seems to like blatant horror over suspense. Carpenter’s had both. I cannot classify the original as all that scary, but I think they were going mostly for suspense and did not do such a good job at that. (I prefer suspense horror. The best way to scare people is to let their own imagination do it. Otherwise, our desensitization pwns any blatant horror that can be rendered on the screen.) … And now, you know. And knowing is half the battle. G.I.Joe!
I haven’t seen The Thing but I do have a book by Wayne Barlowe that shows his interpretation of the Thing from the Campbell story. It looks like a sort of blue skinned alien with large red eyes and a lamprey mouth that has half turned into a wolf.
John Carpenter’s The Thing!!! Woot! (Why didn’t they have the opening credits of Ep1? That was a trap if I ever saw one.)

That made me lol in my pants.
Get an axe.
Ackbars gift for detecting traps is uncanny. It’s like he’s some sort of statigic mastermind. If he were to join the navy I think he could go far.
StarWars Music and Saving Private ryan go so well together!
the thing was hilarious. maybe because i was unfamiliar with it, and was not expecting it.
One of these days I have got to see The Thing.
How was the storming of Normandy a trap? Krauts didn’t know the Allies were landing there.
It`s a trap!

hehehe.. best thing I’ve seen today
Duel of the Fates goes well with saving private ryan I can’t help bobbing my head in tune.
That was awesome!
Funny until the end. You don’t get to makefun of WWII soldiers getting dead
kinda disgusted seeing that last part
@Tennessee Taylor:
what, was it too soon? XD
That was amazing!
was almost funny till the end as well. a little distasteful and tacky.
I also didn’t care for the end. It would have been better to put some funny reality TV clips in their. WW2 just isn’t funny.
