What was I thinking last year? I shrugged off this show as some lame movie to TV thing that was bound to suck. Kim and I just screamed through season one, and what I got instead was the best drama on TV. It’s incredibly good, and I can’t recommend it enough. For those out there that fear they will get nothing more than weekly doses of Remember The Titans, think again. The acting is second to none, the look is dead on, and the characters have you riveted. Can’t recommend it enough.
I love this show. Growing up in SC, I already knew the whole football fanatic thing so the only reason I watched the series premiere was because I like Kyle Chandler. Lo and behold, I actually really liked the show. Now that it is on Friday nights (thanks for finally getting it right NBC), hopefully, more people will discover what a great show it is.

I keep hearing amazing things about this show from every corner so I finally picked up Season One. Once I finish up Series 3 of Doctor Who and the first season of Torchwood, I’ll probably jump into this one.

I love watching a whole season all at once, can’t do it anymore but there was a time when i would bit torrent a season and then watch the season strait through… great!

Funny, I heard you talking about this series on ELR. Now I’m going to have to check it out. I, too, wrote it off as a show about high school football and tossed it into the 90210 bucket of crap.
FWIW, I just got the first two seasons of Boston Legal… and watching them as often again.

I just downloaded the whole first season… Like I don’t have enough things to do! grrrr… stinkin… I like how they make you watch the next show to see the game. GENIOUS!!! gahhhh… here’s to some sleepless nights…

meh. sports related show. I’ll pass. only sport activities I like to participate in are the occasional game and ACTUALLY playing the sport. I guess that I enjoy the occasionally good sport movie like “We Are Marshall” (2006). But a TV series? meh
But that’s the thing Zeke, it’s not really a show about football or sports. Football provides the backdrop but the story is about the people. I almost gave it a pass too because I thought the same thing, “How can they possibly make a series out of this movie?” (the movie is also fantastic BTW). But I watched it and I loved it. I’ll even say that it was my favorite show last year (Heroes a close second tho

OK, I am particualy sick of all the FootBAWL movies that come out, Marshall was bad, and watching Titans anytime there was a substitute in Spanish class in high school was annoying as hell. For me it was like “LAWD Not Another Football movie” Which goes for FNL.
Scott, I’ll take your word on this just once especially since it has to do with a sports drama.
I’ve tried to get people to start watching this show, and its so hard to convince them that this isnt a TV version of a sports movie. My girlfriend (who hates football and sports in general … as do I) went out of town for the weekend and told her just to watch at least 3 episodes, and if she didnt want to watch the rest, I wouldn’t bug her about it… to make a long story short … 4 or so days later, she had finished the whole thing.
This show is in danger of being cancelled this season, so watch it, if you love it, get others to watch it. If you own the DVDs try to share them with as many people as you can.
Everybody is just too damn pretty … makes me feel like my highschool experience was even worse than it was because NOBODY (not even the hottest chicks in class) looked that good.
I hate shows like this … I mean even the kids that are supposed to be the ugly, nerdy or loser kids are still borderline runway models (just with some Hollywood stylists idea of “nerd clothing” on … stuff you could still buy at H&M though).
Ruins the drama for me … makes the entire thing feel like a Stridex commercial.
