Just heard from EL friend, Alison about an official press release they are pushing for the upcoming episode of Mythbusters where they FINALLY tackle some of the myths around the first moon landing. How cool is that?
Totally worth checking out.
That looks to be an awesome episode, but they’re not likely to change any minds with it.
I agree, it looks like it’ll be a lot of fun, but it won’t necessarily turn any heads.
This will be interesting to see.
There was a show on Discovery or History channel a while back that had a guy tackling the myths and proved the moon landing was real by reenacting the events.
Forgot to mention the guy in the show tackled all the myths like the Flag, Light and Dust.
This should be totally fun…I so love these guys

Well this is definitely going on the recording list. I’ve always wondered when they would bring this topic up.
I believe it was real, but if anyone thinks they have proof of it being fake and would be ALLOWED TO BROADCAST IT is a real moron. OF COURSE it’s going to be proven real. Most predictable episode ever.

No serious scientist would EVER argue that the moonlanding is fake. This is the lamest urban myth I have ever seen and the only reason it is still around is people have attention span like a goldfish. I anyone would even bother to read or learn about these things there would be no doubt. You don’t even have to go the library anymore (hint: Google).

It was a good episode, but I miss the usual exploding of stuff. I should watch Mythbusters more.
Great episode, i’ve always been heavily frustrated with moon conspiracy nuts. They never realy think about any science at ALL.
I know this girl who actually tried to convince me that the landing was fake by saying: “Whenever the moon’s blacked out that means that the Earth is blocking the light to the moon right? So when you’re looking at pictures of earth from the moons surface why is the earth covered in black halfway? The moon isnt nearly big enough to cover half the earth in shade!”
She clearly has never heard of Night and friggin’ Day
Also that the shade on the earth isnt circular didnt give it away to her either.
She still believes that this is a valid argument

Well, mythbusters owned those theorists, but I’m sure the theorists will just say, “NASA gave them fixed dust,” and “you cheated and were bought off by NASA,” and stuff like that, but they can get bent. Great episode, and as has been said before, they’re one of the few reasons TV is worth watching.
