Anyways, that is an awesome picture thanks for the link. Passing it around the office now
I’m a space nut… work for a space co, and have space bewteen my ears… so I am always looking at stuff like this, and have lately been listening to the Phoenix lander podcasts.
Ah fun stuff… digging in the dirt, cooking rocks & looking for water & other interesting things.
yes… HST is one of the single most significant scientific instruments ever built. it has fundamentally changed the way we think of the universe. that, and it take really freaking cool pictures.
i have, for years, used HST shots as my desktop wallpapers.
as awesome HST is, the next space telescope… can’t remember the name… will be more awesomer. it may even be able to see so far out and we can witness the big bang. totally amazing.
That is awesome. It kind of reminds me of the Headpiece to the Staff of RA.
Nice, I love the Hubble.
Looks like a few people have a new background image now (including me!)
Hubble is really cool, but to agree with Dane(my middle name by the by Rock on Danes of the world) think of the next space telescope. Hubble was built in the late 80s and launched in 1990 technology has come so far since then and the next space telescope will be way more awesome.
Not bad once they gave it the right glasses!
To add to my nerdfactor, I have not one, but two modelcraft models of Hubble in the garage. One built (badly) and another still in the box to built at a later time.
If you tilt your head it kind of looks like the thundercats logo.
