This was posted on the front page of VG cats, which may explain the lack of comments. But let me tell you that guy, even though he designed this armor, looks and sounds dumb.
I’ve seen him before, I can’t find the link but the dude is quite the inventor despite looking kinda… not so smart.
He made this substance (I think it was kinda like clay) and it was completely fireproof. Heck, he put it on a helmet and torched his head just to prove it and it was still cool to the touch when he was done trying to burn his head.
I wonder if any of his inventions will actually ever be used though.
it’s a great idea, but it’s nowhere near what could be done. and an IED would still blow his legs off. it does need to be a lot more like the halo suit.
I was thinking the same thing SydeffeX. Seems armor designers these days seem to forget that muscles and ligaments have a maximum tensil strength far below the sheering and tearing forces of most low to moderate powered explosives. In other words, any armor I’d feel safe in needs to have some sort of high strength fiber mesh or something along those lines that resist extreme tearing forces to protect the joints. Stopping a bullet is only one small measure of protection, and means nothing when what the armor is attempting to absorb will quite literally rip your arm/leg off. What I find eqaully important (and many soldiers I’d reckon would agree) is how close can you be to a military grade explosive when it detonates and still survive with your limbs more or less intact?
If this guy wants to impress the military, have it standing (the suit, not with an occupant mind you) within a few feet of high-power explosive typical of today’s urban combat and have the suit more or less intact. By intact I mean, beaten, maybe broken a bit, but still all in one piece. That would get my attention. I guess that’s just a pipe dream though.

I just love that fact that it looks like master chief’s armour.
For you Warhammer 40k fans…. would you give this guy a 4+ or 5+ armor save?
By your command!
That’s an interesting place to keep a watch.
Wow, what a psycho.

Hey this guy may look like some wierdo but hes made some amazing stuff I think you should see him test all his other inventions then say its a joke
