I think this can be pulled of quite nicely. I’ve never seen Supes do this.

  2. NeuroMan42

Looks cool… but I haveheard NOTHING but bad from test screenings and such. I will still go watch it for the GRAAAAPHICS.

  3. Lifeisaglitch

Looks like a fun. I expect we are gonna see a lot of different takes on supes at the movies, especially considering how the big the hero movie genre has grown. What im really looking forward to though is the “The Boys” movie.

  4. Lifeisaglitch

HOW BIG! Not how the big…damn typos!

  5. Bookend

It looks like a movie with a good potential to be both tragic and comical at the same time. My only hope is just that it won’t do a usual Hollywood and have Hancock end up with a moral stick up his ass like Superman.

When I look at this now, I kind of see flairs of Simon Peg and Edgar Wright. And while my first impression was that it was just repackaged Not Another…movie style, just with Will Smith, I kind of have enough trust in Will Smith to not latch on to total crap. It may turn out like I Am Legend, where Hanckock was horribly edited and post produced to absolute horse crap, but Will Smith is a good enough actor and with a good eye for roles, that it will probably be good.

Some movies are just fun, this looks like one of them. Plus Will Smith, in my opinion, is going be the new Bruce Campbell. I’m just happy he’s getting some high quality films.

  8. Eric

I dunno. Most of the trailer was kinda boring. :P

What? Surely, you expected someone to mention it. No?

  9. Rob Dalton

I get the feeling that a lot of the negative reviews are coming from expectations not being met. People go to a superhero movie and expect a superhero, but in this case the person who you’re supposed to cheer for isn’t exactly a role model.

  10. 6-3-2

I think having a flawed superhero, or anti-hero makes this movie much more interesting. I hope that doesn’t turn people away from the movie, but I fear it might.

Anyone out there let Scott know about the new TDK poster at whysoserious.com/itsallpartoftheplan/poster.htm Post it! It’s freakin awesome! I would send Scott an email myself but my email is down so I tried the next best thing.

  12. Tom

But why do they have to turn to scientology?! /sob

  13. Naldo-PR

I agree with Rob Dalton and 6-3-2 !
I’m going to see this movie just because of that.

  14. mercator

    RENTAL!

  15. GoofyMonkey

    It’s like Smallville…only Blacker…

  16. GoofyMonkey

I’d like to apologize for that last comment. I realize it was very offensive to some, and now that I’ve watched the entire trailer I’d like to change my last comment.

    It’s like The Incredibles… only Blacker…

  17. Cen Takada

Bookend: Sadly it will be a moralistic movie, because Ms. Scientology aka Will Smith suddenly decided he doesnt want to curse and have bad themes in the movies he makes, so he forced the writers to rewrite the original screenplay which was a very dark comedy about superlike being without the moralistic crap that I think they have now in the movie…makes me sad…

Shooting cum through women, the superman sex theory…all gone…sad days

  18. Silvadream

the first half looks good until he goes good but will smith has to always portray a good character that would be awesome to have his powers though

  19. Agent Eggroll

Scott can you edit out that last part of Cen Takada’s comment? It’s a tad bit vulgar.

I just want to watch it because I think it mght be kinda fun to see a flawed superhero and such.

  20. NSMike

What is this? Good quality video and sound from YouTube?! What is the world coming to?

  21. Cen Takada

Agent Eggroll: If being honest and saying things how they are is vulgar, so be it…let scott remove it…these are sad days when vulgarity is being censored together with GTA4 and sex…

  22. Agent Eggroll

Well Cen you could choose to phrase your words with a little more couth, which also happens to be lost upon the world. You have your right to say what you want, however as the poll that Scott posted a few months back, there are readers of the blog that are under age and may not be exposed to things like this. I am sure that thier parents would want to keep it that way.

You can say what you want, just try to have a little bit of class while saying it.

  23. GoofyMonkey

“…the poll that Scott posted a few months back, there are readers of the blog that are under age and may not be exposed to things like this…”

    And yet he keeps O around… :)

This y-tube link worked better for me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_34qIef8JY&feature=related

I could care less for all the hype or behind the scenes yammering. It just looks like a whole lot of F-U-N fun!!

Censorship: I think you take a HUGE risk letting your kids cruse any forum. That said: Considering the atmosphere Scott has developed here, I think you went a tad to far too, Cen Takada.

  25. Jaramide

This movie is so going to ROCK!
