God this movie blows.
After the Vegas scene you could have rolled credits right there and I would have said it was an ok Special Effects movie. But after that part it rolls on and on and on and on.
3 hours of zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Rental at best.

On top of that, a 200 Million dollar budget got them $225 Million worldwide opening weekend.

It was a freakin movie people…that’s it. I paid to see things blow up and people survive. I got what I paid for.
Yes, Woody Harrelson was the best actor in it, I love his work. Also the special affects were awesome. It is hard to see all the detail that they put into it. When LA breaks apart, there is sooo much going on it’s very hard to catch everything.

Bottom line, I got what I paid for. I’m most likely gonna but it when it hits DVD.

I’m with most of the comments here: good movie, not great. First half snooze, second half great graaaaaphics.
It was a million disaster movies all crammed into one. Woody Harrelson was all of the conspiracy theorists crammed into one person. Loved his character!

Regarding the planes not going up, Soysaucebeast, every time that happened the plane fell a little before going up (besides, the Antonov is a beast of an airplane!), but even though they probably used that free fall to intensify the drama of the takeoff I also got the feeling it took way too much time to go up.

MIUCH better than I expected this to be. Enjoyed the action after two weeks of “Paranormal Activity” and “The Fourth Kind”.
