Thanks to Germ for sending this to me this morning:
The deal — based on a script by “28 Days Later” scribe Alex Garland — caused a stir earlier in the week when Garland’s agents at Creative Artists Agency sent it out via a messenger clad in a “Halo”-esque green costume. The deal came bearing some pretty stiff terms, including a two-hour bidding period and demands for a $10 million advance against 15% of the gross. The script was commissioned by Microsoft, which also brought in producer Peter Schlessel to work on the project.
I guess we will have to see how things turn out.

At least Halo has WAY more of an interesting plot than Doom, and Doom is getting a film. Which I have a very very bad feeling about.
Look at how MOST Game movies go…
Street Fighter
Alone in the Dark
This is more of the MTVization of my beloved past time. I felt sick when the Alone in the Dark movie came out. They had basically raped a classic game that I spent many a night huddled around my trusty 386 eagerly anticipating the moment when the next boxy polygon scary guy would jump out. All those scary sounds playing through my new sound blaster 16 that I saved for months.
Video game movies are an abomination!!!
The only saving grace for this one might be that it was comissioned by Microsoft. Hopefully the guys at Bungie will have their say on the final product.
Halo looks like a better idea than most game movies. Hopefully, they’ll actually try, like Resident Evil whick at least was a black eye on the franchise.
But they could always not try and come out with a House of the Dead. That same dude later when on to make Alone in the Dark. If should now be forbidden to come within 50 ft of anything movie or video game related.
I still think they should let Rooster Teeth write the script.
UGHHHHHH!!!
I totally forgot about the horrid, horrid, painful “House of the Dead” movie.
i won’t forget those movies or the pathetic franchise-rapist who made them; Damn You Uwe Boll! Someday I will have my revenge.
Video Game Movies done to date by Uwe Boll:
1. House of the Dead
2. Alone on the Dark
Future Movies set to be done by him:
3. Bloodrayne
4. Far Cry
5. Dungeon Siege
6. Hunter: The Reckoning
Conclusion; Uwe Boll must be stopped
i actually thought RE wasnt that bad. Sure it had nothing to do with the games but the writer never wanted it to be. More like a new storyline. Anyways i found all of them enjoyable.
Bloodrayne has the potential of being pretty cool in my estimation, but not with Uwe Boll at the helm.
