Hey folks. I’m Pierre, the server guy for Extralife.
I just wanted to give you heads up that the forums will be down for a few hours today while we hunt and fix a problem with it.

@Pierre Have you tried kicking it? Maybe that server just needs to be roughed up a bit. Show it who’s boss!
I’m wondering at this point if “Pierre” is a real person or a bot… either way, good luck to you!

Not to tell you your job or anything, but if this is a simple hardware issue, swap it out and install whatever backup of the forums you have on new hardware. Shouldn’t take long at all. Then take that old hardware out in back and shoot it!
Can we start up a temp. forum on a site like guildlaunch or something? It would help people who need to coordinate their raid groups.

Patience was good for “a couple hours,” not a couple days. wolfpackfan is right… people rely on the forums to communicate with their raid groups.

Zewt…come on dude. Not only are we doing the best we can, but I am now paying significantly more a month so you can have your free boards. You can’t give me a couple of days while this gets fixed for the long term? Really?

We understand Scott, things happen and we appreciate all that you do for us especially giving us a place to congregate. Keep up the good work, we’ll wait patiently as you guys sort everything out.

Pierre’s newest message says they are back up, but I get the following error:

There’s facebook, myspace, IM, email, texting, twitter, and half a million different forums, and people are relying on just one to organize their raid group? That’s pretty sad.

For AIE folks who are having trouble scheduling raids, you can use the wiki to post schedules and use the discussion pages to figure out the details.
