By scanning over their past articles, one may get the feeling that they believe they can tell the public what to think. As with any so-called "news" source, don't leave them as your only source and take the information as one of many interpretations. (I like to play on the fact that the website is "EW!") :)
One thing to remember is that the list is just "first looks". The way it is presented seems like they are saying "these are the shiznits of the year", but they're not. It doesn't help that it goes right into a "must see" article without warning when you go past the 21st page, but there it is. Spin is the business of the media. They won't hold themselves responsible for what they lead the readers to believe when they didn't actually say it. It's buyer beware.
All-in-all, this shouldn't be discounted completely. It has info, and because it's incomplete and slanted, it's merely a starting place to let people know a little bit about what's out there. If one keeps in mind that there's always more to the story (and there always is), they'll know to go hunting for other information to get a better view of what's going on for the 2009 movie year.

It’s Entertainment Weekly. Land of the Lost also got me interrested, but only because it has dino's in it (I'm a real sucker for that). The rest ? Meh (Jonas Brothers ? BLEH) . Watchmen I will keep a close eye on it, but I'm not really excited about it.

Terminator, Up, Wolverine and The Year One got my interrest.
