First HDD

In this day and age, we’re able to store upto 16Gb of data into something the size of our thumb. But things weren’t always so portable. The BBC posted an image showing the first computer to contain a hard drive. The computer was created in September 1965 by IBM, and was called 305 RAMAC. The actual hard drive weighed over a ton, but was only able to store 5mb of data.

I hate being “that guy” but seriously, GB is NOT THE SAME as Gb. Capitalization matters. 1GB is 8 times the size of 1Gb. Bytes versus bits. Bytes are capitalized, bits are not. 5Mb is five megabits, not five megaBytes. It’s important.
