Since the White king is in check, it must be White’s turn. He can only move the King to one spot which will give Black the move to Checkmate on the next move. While it isn’t perfectly certain, I am fairly certain the “angry kid” is Black and about to win.
He’s not angry. He’s gloating… gloating eeeeevily. (Is the other kid crying? There’s no crying in chess!)
i definitely see it a different way Eric…it looks to me like the black king just got put in check there are only 2 moves for him, forward or backward. But the angry kid is definitely black because he has white pieces off the board in front of him. also the black queen is off the board right near the camera.
It basically devolved into a massive chess debate (which is made much worse because it is being carried out on the interwebs, and thus devolves faster).
@ Eric, where are you seeing the black queen? If you look on the side of the board, you can see the queen has been taken out. Unless those black pawns are on the other side of the board and are about to become a black queen, then he’s money.
Remember the Twilight Zone movie? Most folks only remember John Lithgau. But that kid freakin reminds me of the maladjusted boy who got everything he wanted.

@ ScottC: Go further down. Someone finally caught it. I switched the king and queen. It kinda disappointed me it took them that long to see it though. How could you have a game without a king? It seemed obvious to me. Oh well. Maybe I was too subtle.
Actually, I’m more inclined to think almost nobody read it or tried to figure it out.

(Actually, I see a third move: White King forward 1. Black Queen all the way over to Check again, White Queen to Block, Queen jumps Queen, checkmate.)
