I also agree 100% I can’t believe some one would be that immature about a death. It’s a sad time, grow up and show respect. Thank you Scott, you said exactly what I felt.
some people are just terrible at heart and in person they normally hide it but this is not true of everyone in the internet or in the real world, there are good people out who have respect for one another and have the decency to offer their condolences to the departed, its just something you have to get used to you know, not everybody can mean well when they’re just not capable of it, but we have to appreciate those who are human towards one another and can respect Bruce and his family R.I.P. Bruce
Some people are just pricks. I’ve said this before, this is your blog. You have every right to censor anything you want in regards to your blog. If someone screams foul or 1st Amendment they’re simply being ignorant.
The 1st Amendment guarantees one’s right to speak freely, but does not guarantee that person’s right to be heard.
I agree with you Scott. Some people can just be total morons online. My theory is that they see it as a release for themselves, the say things they wouldn’t or can’t say in real life because they can’t get punished for it. Those people have to prove something to themselves that they can’t do in real life. I personally just find it sad. Don’t give these people the time of day, they don’t deserve it.
The anonymity of the internet lets these cowards hide from real scrutiny. Trolling is an activity of the weak-minded who couldn’t ever act that way in real life. The best course of action is to remove the comment and don’t acknowledge his existence. He wants the attention, negative or otherwise.
You said it best, Scott. I’m very sorry about the death, and my condolences are to his family. Remember Scott, the 1st Amemdment doesn’t apply online. Even if it did, the Bill of Rights doesn’t protect being a prick. RIP Bruce.
I’m gonna have to confirm what Scott’s saying. I got to meet him at the Nerdtacular and I was the guy that gave him the t-shirt he mentioned in his diary.
Anyways, he was very friendly, open and felt a little like an ass for not having something to give me in return, even though I told him not to worry about it. I mean he DID fork out the cash for us all to see Spiderman 3.
Who would say something like that in a tribute? That’s just in bad taste. That really makes me mad. Sorry to hear that you saw something so terrible.
I agree 100% with you, it’s just common courtesy, come on.
It’s just terrible when people act like what you’ve just said. =/

Stick to your guns, Scott. You rock.

On that note, when is the next Nerdtacular Scott?
*hugs for the good guy* Sorry not everyone is a good guy like you! But there are enough good guys out there that it makes it all worth it.
