Now that’s funny! I do that all the time in Orgrimmar, next to the bank with that bonfire. Somehow I always manage to stand close enough to almost kill myself & never notice it!
having raided as a mage and a holy pally I don’t understand why people find it so difficult. you can’t dps/heal when you’re dead, and I didn’t sign up for a 24 man raid.
Mr. S: It’s a reference to people leaving their character standing on ground that does damage to them(often fire) and them not having the collective brain-power of a packet of matches leading them not to “get out of the fire”
Our poor guild/group leader goes thru these long complicated boss strategies, reading out every detail. Then, invariably, someones says, “so, basically, kill the boss hard & don’t stand in the glowy stuff, right?” You’d think he’d give up on strategy by now!
@Tordenflesk’s response: Ah I guess that makes more sense now. (I’m another non-WoW player that didn’t get it). Would’ve been a bit clearer if there was a visible flame in the picture but sure. Is there a reason one of the text is in white?
When I first saw this I thought, oh man you are embarrassing hunters everywhere. I’ll give you one guess what killed me in heroic mode ToC tonight… /shame
I’m thinking the white text is the point at which it was too late to run. I’ve done that countless times. No doubt Gerp has probably seen it. You want to laugh at someone frantically trying not to die & failing miserably? That’s what I’m there for.
@Tordenflesk Thanks a lot. I agree with Aeton, it would have been easier for us not wow playing if we could see perhaps his foot in a fire. But ok, it’s a joke for wow players, why should it be necessary to make it clear for those who doesn’t play wow?
1. a ten man group is an instanced dungeon in WoW that needs10 players to complete 2. gerp is Scott’s character (i’m guessing) 3. the fire is an “Area of Effect” attack thrown down during boss fights that do mad damage if you stay in them. and while that seems simple enough, during the heat of battle, small details like that are easy to overlook.
This made me laugh. Hard.
Oh my god this is freaking hilarious – many many many many times I heard similar things back when I was playing…
HAHA, our guild has “Jamie, get the X. Jamie get the X. Jamie get the X. EEEEEEX!”
Oh man I also have experience with this sort of thing.
Playing Heroes of Newerth with my friends.
“Andrew get out of there”
“Andrew run”
“Andrew run”
“RUN ANDREW RUN”
“ANDREW RUN”
“ANDREW!!!!”
Andrew dies
Ahahahaha
I love it. It would have been cool to see Henry trying to pull Gerp out of the fire.
We have yelled that, but not as frequently as Scott lets on

oh man that cracked me up and i dont even play WoW
I’m not a wow player, can someone explain it to mr.stupid (yeah that’s me)

We’ve all had those moments. Some just more than others.

Yeah, we always shout “The Red Circle is NOT a buff!” Unless it is, which REALLY confuses people!
Been there… Done that! lol
Three questions….
1) What’s a “10 man group”?
2) Who/what is “Gerp”?
3) Why is it in the fire?

That pic is awesome!
This is similar to:
“Yelsel, get out of the fire”
“Yelsel, get out of the fire”
“Yelsel, get out of the fire”
“Yelsel, get out of the fire”
“Oh, crap”
