“Saturn” is a market for electronic devices (PC, TV, MP3 Players etc.) in Germany and Austria. “Wir hassen teuer” at the end means “We hate expensive” The woman says “The best electronic (strongest) devices of all time for a really low price”
Its from the electronic store “Saturn” from Germany. Its the biggest Store of that kind. They say at the end “we hate expencive” the last year it was “avarice is wicked” or somethin like that translated.
it’s an ad for an consumer electronics store. pretty cool ad, especially because normally they have ads where you just want to throw a brick through your tv.
Personally, I like it better than both the Ozzy WoW commercial and the Rock Band (I think it was Rock Band) one where the were playing atop the moving vehicles.
Hey, I shopped there when I lived in Germany 3 years ago! That robot chick has been their add ‘model’ for a while. I remember it on billboards and things. Cool add.
Amazing that there are so many Germans around here. Scott should make a nationality poll, that’d be really interesting. Germans might actually come in 2nd or 3rd place, this is amazing
Saturn is an awful store. It’s laid out like a dollar store: just a mess of electronics scattered everywhere. Comparing it to a flee market is probably apt.
I might also add that the first thing that’s said, in that typical breathy German female voice that’s used for every add, is “The selection (as in natural selection) was hard. Now, she is there.”
It may have changed sine I was last over there, but I loved the fact that German TV shows the commercial between programs, not in the middle of them. That’s why they make their commercials worth watching – they *have* to “grab the viewer,” or Hans Funkplatz is going to be in the kitchen getting another bier (“beer” to Americans), and possibly a snack, while the commercials play in an empty room.
Perhaps my german bretheren should explain the whole text…
“The selection has been hard, but now it is here: The strongest technology of all time. Saturn – we hate expensive” Get it? Selection? Strongest tech?
Yeah, it’s that lame of a pun. Nice anim and the first time I see the beginning of it. The time I thought a little TV couldn’t hurt, they’re only showing the last couple of seconds…
Sorry for the doublepost, but… Icesnake when was the last time you’ve seen a german TV station? We caught up, shows and movies are seen as breaks between the ads…
Icesnake, you must have been to Germany before cable TV, because they do interrupt the program for commercials for decades now. Athough they usually don’t do that for state television, although no one watches that.
oh cool … thus I have no television I did not know this. nice advertisement. They should release the model data and let people play with them to make their own little movies with these adorable robots …
I like it even though it turns weird in places!
Anyone know what it’s actually advertising?

After seeing it several times every evening here in Germany, the coolness sort of fades away
@thalendar i agree
Btw Thalender, Mr. Moleman, Hummerpladde, Matthias are you all from germany?
Lustig hier soviele deutsche anzutreffen
I love Germans
It’s cool until the point they start to reveal what they are actually advertising.
And yeah, their usual ads want to make you rip your eyeballs out.
@ Torian
Wir erkennen halt gute Websites, wenn wir sie sehen.
More steampunk dinosaurs fighting cyberpunk sabertooth cats please.
Aw man, and to think I just went out and bought a new car cuzza that commercial. Ok, not really. But I could have.

Hey, I shopped there when I lived in Germany 3 years ago! That robot chick has been their add ‘model’ for a while. I remember it on billboards and things. Cool add.
And a hundred thousand new inaniphiles are born.
thats pretty damn epic
Seen that on TV here in Germany a few times, it looks really cool in HD.
i find that ad offensive!

I do.
Nah, just kiddin.
Normally Saturn commercials are really crappy. But this one really good. A new ad-Agency I guess.
Epic win.
Steampunk dinosaurs, which I coincidentally had no idea of, are my favorite thing ever!
Germans make me tingle
oh cool … thus I have no television I did not know this.
