And have really been enjoying it. It’s basically a refined next generation Baldur’s Gate come to vivid life, and I think they’ll have a pretty big hit on their hands in the fantasy RPG crowd. Playing on Steam on my PC.
Not sure you wanna play yet? Well…play this funky flash thing they have up on their site right now. Kinda fun! I wish someone would make more flash stuff like this that looked this good.

Man, I am enjoying the hell out of that game. It’s been since Oblivion that a single player game has sucked me into it’s storyline this much. Divinity II – Ego Draconis can’t compare to this =)
Ditto. The first two intros I played through were great. The City Elf and Noble Human really got me into the story and world quick.
I enjoy the game. Been playing almost nonstop for 3 days. I see a lot of DnD creeping in. I can feel Baldur’s gate in this game, even Minsc. But holy, there is a crap ton of dialog. Maybe too much. Due to the length of the game, I don’t see a lot of replay in it. Ya, each “starting area” is different, but I don’t see a lot else. Disclaimer, I’ve only done the Elf area, and Redcliffe; twice with two different characters. I enjoy the game very much, I do see it a little over rated though.
I am loving the game…but it is looooong…especially if you sit through the dialogues and attempt all the mini/side quests. (According the stats I have not even come close to 40% exploration and I was playing all weekend.)
There is also quite a bit of reading to do, and some of the quests are hinted at in the codex entries. As an avid reader, I don’t mind this aspect but I can imagine this would be a huge turn off for some more ‘twitch’ based players.
I disagree a little bit with Ceiynt about the replay value though…the dialogue options here will at times change based on character class and (at times who you keep in your party), plus you can always try to play through with an ‘evil’ or devious streak… (spoiler note: don’t make Flemeth angry….you won’t like here when she’s angry.)
I also really like the voice acting and I think I have recognized (so far) two actors from Star Trek (Kate Mulgrew is Flemeth and Tim Russ as the Dalish Elf leader)…and Claudia Black as Morrigana. But event the minor characters are good…
I am a bit disappointed in a few things, the main one being the lack of controls/interactivity in the environment. It is very limited in places you can go/access and in this way it is completely like Baldur’s Gate. (You cannot jump over a low fence for example) I think the four party system is a bit limited as well. You have a whole crew following you, and I know processing power might be taxed a bit more, but would think they could handle a group of 5 or 6.
but overall, excellent stuff. Can’t wait to see what they do with Mass Effect 2.
Yeah, it is awesome! Ive been engrossed now for a good few days. Im just struggling with the difficulty to be honest. Im on medium but its taking me like 10 attempts to even get close to winning the boss battles. Its alittle depressing.
Im no rpg noob either.!
I am so loving this game. Between this and Borderlands, I could drop out of society and just game for a month. But employers tend to frown on that, a pity.
I actually went through and did all 6 intros, albeit at a pretty fast pace. I liked the dwarven noble intro best and so was playing a dwarven warrior for a bit, but I found myself constantly playing the mage in battles as they seem to need the most attention. So I’ve restarted my “main” game as a mage.
I picked up the game on Steam over the weekend and am hooked. I didn’t even think I was that into it until I realized I had played most of the day. I am an alt-aholic and have been fighting really hard not to start a new character (currently playing a Dwarf Commoner/Warrior).
I really want to try out the mage class so I may give in and make one of those tonight.
I gave it to my wife last friday over Steam and man she loved the game. At first she missed some D&D features on the character and in the way elves are treated but now she is hooked by the story. The game looks great and it’s an over the top fantasy RPG.
